Tomorrow I'm going to the dealer........

... to have them change my oil, spark plugs, and air filters for free. I love BMW service. To quote super bad... people who are scared about going to the dealer with mods are "pusssssaaaayyyyysss"

I see it a lot on here: "should I remove my ______ before going in for service?". No stop being a baby and go in fully modded.

i know none of you care, it's cool

So warranty and maintenance service are separate things? Is your warranty voided for your mods or did you make friends with the SA?

Didn't make friends with anyone, but my warranty is fine and intact. I've never removed one mod whenever going to the dealer. Got the brakes done, and would have gotten a free clutch but i decided to upgrade.

Yes service is different than warranty work, but I just find it funny how terrified some people are.

I've heard good things about Bridgeport. Thus far Darien seems to be quite cool, we'll see how that goes if/when I need warranty work.

I agree, LOL. I went in fully modded - flash, downpipes, line lock it, intake, nitrous, and more. They didn't say a word.

Then, I went in with the single turbo kit.... LOL. Had to raise a little cain, but still managed to get HPFP replaced under warranty.

Yea, it's pretty situational. I couldn't see ANY dealership in the DC/Metro area that would allow warranty work done under those conditions for an HPFP. The dealerships I've been to won't even diagnose a car with a mod installed and my SAs are personal friends too. Reason? BMW NA does frequent visits to these dealerships and if they were to ever see a car being worked on for warranty with mods installed... they're going to shit bricks.

Don't get me wrong, I've always been an advocate for the "just take it in" methodology until recently

^agreed.

They flagged me on an intake, and even after I returned the car to 100% stock they want 125 dollars to to diagnose this ridiculous misfiring I have. My SA refuses to accept the fact that there is a bulletin on the misfiring that says to replace the injectors.

So annoying. If anyone has a good mechanic/SA in the DC area let me know. As of now I go to Tischer and Kevin Hull is my SA. Cool dude, but he likes to screw me over when it comes to even basic mods. I am so sick of him saying that a simple reprogram will fix the misfiring on my car. It won't.

OP, you aren't scared because you have a good dealer. I talked to a local tuner and he told me Fields Orlando is "eager" to void your warranty. "know fear" is different than "no fear"

It's going to be funny when they try to drive the car with this clutch. They're 100% going to stall it

Ha! What if they think the clutch is defective and put the stock one back in under warranty?

FWIW some dealers dont care, and others would care if you came in with just a filters or exhaust.

Know your dealers and ask around.

My SA is always asking when I'm going to tune the car. I run a JB+ at 100% but I take it out and check for codes everytime I take it in. He is always telling me how awsome the tuned cars are that come in. I tell him I don't want to loose my warrenty but he's says "oh, don't worry about that."
