FYI for all with tire warranty
Please read if you intend to throw 1600 for this warranty in the future!
After bending the inner lip on a pot hole, I have been told that they will not cover it cuz the tire is holding air, yet no where is said as such on the warranty. It states clearly that will repair or replace! I had bought the original BMW tire warranty for 700 they were selling 3 years back, but they replaced it with a third party warranty now for 1600 for new cars. I guess they pulled out figuring that ppl have a lot of flats and nothing in it for them cuz a single flat would cost as much and warranty states 5 yrs or 100,000km unlimited flats........GO figure!! Another of my friends recently got a 550i with 19's from Butt's and paid 1600, turns out he just had a flat last week ........ was told to pay upfront as he was out of province and get reimbursed by butt's...... runaround.....got to the warranty offering company.....few more phone calls.....and a guy punched in his quote for 625 or so and said that we will only be reimbursing you 425 which is 200 less than what he had paid for as he could have got the same tire for less than 400 from tire rack..... he is super pissed, bad mouthed his POJ (piece of junk) sales agent at Butt's cuz 1600$ is a huge amount to pay upfront and later be sent to fetch our own money! Sucks doesnt it What I dont understand is that WTF are the dealers thinking, loosing valued customers over 1600$ worth piece of shit warranty for a third party?? I am still in the middle of a runaround and awaiting a solid answer on my wheel(4weeks in) cuz my guy didnt get a call from the other guy who is supposed to be dealing with another guy who tells every other guy how to do their jobs! All I can think of is that all these guys mentioned dont give a s@#$ about all the other big spender guys! that being us. I have thought it over and this is absurd and I am thinking legal advice, as my wheel alone is 800+, I am not sure but I guess small claims court is the only way to go? what do you guys think ![]()

BMW is just reselling other companies' insurance. I know that at least a couple of years ago different dealerships sold insurance from different insurance companies and they have some minor differences in terms and conditions. I think mine states that the tire has to leak to be replaceable through insurance (not sure about bent rims). And mine works the same way: you pay first, submit a claim and then they reimburse you. How much they reimburse you depends on how they calculate "market value", etc, but I would assume they would cover everything the dealer is charging. Plus I know someone who has replaced multiple flats at BMW and insurance reimbursed full amounts.
Best way is to just call insurance company directly and ask them. Read what it covers, terms&conditions and call them to confirm. And btw, mine is different, since there is only time restriction, no km restriction for insurance.

I definitely wouldn't get it for $1600. Got my warranty for $600 and after only 1 year it has already paid for itself, so I'm happy with it. The only reason I wouldn't get it again is that I would have liked to have gotten some aftermarket wheels. But they never had any problems replacing the tires on my 162s which did not originally come with the car.

Is that essentially the BMW Road Hazard Protection Program that covers tires and wheels? I got that for free for attending a BMW event but still would like to hear from people who got covered by tire warranty!

Wow the price has really gone up. I paid about $700 for the wheel/tire warranty early last year.

Got the final word today and the wheel will not be covered under road hazzard protection cuz the tire is holding air....even if the wheel itself is warped.

Same. 3 flats since I bought my car and they are mounted on BBS wheels. Each experience has been 100% hassle free and the dealer has been very accomodating. I think I paid $899 in 2007 for the RHP.

I just replaced my OEM summer runflats with allseasons, and while looking at the OEM run flats realized to my Horror that there was a nail in one of the treads. If my tire still has more than the 4/32, can I call to have it replaced/fixed even if it is not on my car at this time, or do I have to wait till I remount the tire and have it replaced.

Wait. So you can have aftermarket wheels and tires and it still won't matter?

I had 3 tires and 1 wheel replaced with the tire and wheel insurance thing (cost $1800). As you can see, I've already profit big time from that transaction, however one of the tires that exploded and needed replacing was a massive ordeal at BMW Mississauga. If you search my post history, you'll see why I don't like to talk about it.
