thanks sytner newport great result.......

i purchased my d3 touring last august from the dealership(top bloke gareth jarman).

took the car in to have the alpine upgrade (thanks anneka),a couple of months ago.service staff mentioned something about the car having no warranty ignored this as gareth was there to comfirm that the car did in fact have a warranty.

i've been waiting for contact from bmw concerning the renewal which is due at the end of the month.

went into see gareth last week, after a brief chat with admin upstairs they admitted that the car had if fact not had the warranty attached to it from day one.gareth then arranged a new warranty for this year free of charge.

what a result!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the dealer gave you what you'd paid for in the first place?

You couldn't stick your head around the corner and ask the parts department if they hold stock of BMW tyre shine, could you?

Your cynicism is funny

However, it really is a genuine first post - he's been a member on here for a few months now and has been in contact with Anneka previously...

thanks for the replies,i'll just have to get used to the sense of humour of some members.

the point i was trying to make was they could have bent the truth with only a few weeks remaining of the original non existant warranty.

instead they fronted up and admitted their mistake all to their credit.

and yes the warranty started yesterday

How embarrassing , errors like this shouldn't really happen, but I'm glad that it's been put right satisfactorily.

Hope you're enjoying your Hi Fi

I would be well miffed if i were you, hardly a result.
Trainers in swansea are the best of a bad bunch in wales. I have had v good service from them with my e90 330 (and the e46), post my visit to rydale in cardiff a few years back which i wont go into here, but never again.

If you arent bothered about the stamp, go to bryn motor workshop in swansea (behind trainers). Utterly brilliant service and care. If your warranty dictates a dealer stamp, travel up to trainers. They wont "forget" you had a warranty and likely to be much more apologetic if they did!

We should be supporting our local specialists when we can and only resort to the stealers when absolutely necessary. Big up bryn motor workshop +10

I bought my car from DL in Bristol but have taken it to Trainers for servicing. They also replaced my clutch under warranty and a couple of days ago replaced the steering lock as I was getting crunching sounds from the steering column and the warning indicator coimng on (orange not red).

Bryn Motor Workshop also good - they installed my mObridge for me :-). Fantastic customer service as they updated the car software as part of the installation.
