Zaino ZFX after ZPC

I have waxed the car with Z5 pro and Z2 pro and used the ZFX. Polishing with ZPC will of course strip off all the wax. If I remember correctly Zaino recommends to use the ZFX max 2 times of a year. Do I need to use ZFX after ZPC or will the wax bond without it?

You have your Z's alittle mixed up. ZPC is a "polishing" compound that is abrasive and recommend to use it only a few times a year. ZFX is a catalyst compound that when mixed with z2pro or z5pro will cause them to cure faster allowing you to put up to 3 coats on the car in 24hours (only can put one coat in 24hours without it). There is no reason not to mix ZFX in each time you apply Z2pro or Z5pro, in fact you have to for the first coat over clean paint.

Hope that makes some sense. In a nut shell, ZPC twice a year, ZFX mixed in every time you use Z2pro or Z5pro. That's what I do.

No, they are not mixed up. In Zaino instructions it is said that when you first time wax your car you must use ZFX (or Z1) to make the wax bond to the paint. After that it is not necessary in following waxings. I asked do I need to use ZFX again after polishing ZPC because ZPC strips the old wax off. Will it remove the ZFX bonding effect as well?

In Zaino instructions is said that ZFX should be used only in two separate waxings in a year for normal street cars and only one time for show cars.

Actually you do have them mixed up. ZFX only affects the time it takes the Z2/5 you mix it with to cure, nothing to do with bonding. And the once for show cars or twice yearly part is talking about ZPC since it is a polish and therefore abrasive. If you use ZPC too much it will strip your clear coat.

No I don't. Quote from Zaino instructions: "Start with either Z-1 Polish Lok as per directions OR the preferred New ZFX accelerator additive". So when using Zaino first time you must use Z1 or ZFX for bonding. But here is another quote: "ZFX should be used with the Zaino system twice a year on daily driven vehicles or once a year on show cars. When using ZFX, you do not need to apply Z-1.

There seems to be mistake in Finnish Zaino pages which say that you can use ZFX max twice a year.

Thank you for making me check this again

Hmmm, thats weird. Are the instructions in Finnish and you're translating for our benefit then? Probably a translation error if thats the case

Finns instructions are correct. Zaino explicitly says that Z1 or ZFX must be used for the first layer of Z2/Z5, and that it is optional for the subsequesnt layers. However they do recommend ZFX for every layer of Z2/Z5 because it strengthens the bond of the polish and provides increased gloss and durability.

Finn, to your question of if will you need ZFX after ZPC'ing you car, the anwser is yes. The effect of the ZFX bonding agent will be wiped away after you ZPC. You will need to use ZFX again for the first layer of Z2/Z5 you add after ZPC'ing.

Hope this clears things up.

Thanks David. I understood this is how it works when I read the English version of Zaino instructions. There were translation error in my local Zaino dealer's web page.
