I find it interesting ...
*disclaimer, I'm a Vishnu customer
Recently, I've been noticing how much simpler and easier the Vishnu products are becoming. When in the past, you used to use its extensive logging and then dial in your features in a number of fields. Today, other than loading the new maps and using autotuning, you're done. On the other JB3 forum (which I read without having an account there), it seems like there are a lot of board upgrades, resistor swapping, sending in logs and getting custom maps or map settings back. In the past, it seems like you set it and forget it. It seems like these vendors have traded positions. This is a "just for fun" observation, I really don't know what to make of this. Has anyone else noticed this? Junk

I'm very happy with the progress that has been made. I'm sure the competition is working 'round the clock to come out with something to fill in the gaps.

funny how much of a jb3 fanboy forum the other one has become. was reading it today and it does get kind of annoying having to filter through all the crap everytime.

+1. I read the other one too, but it is tough sometimes. Some users claim this is a Vishnu fan forum, but I think it is much closer to even than the other choice.

That forum is the way it is because its the same 10 people posting over and over again. You got Terry posting crap about logs look good. Cm posting tank and wiring g diagrams. Hotrod posting vbox times that no one, even Terry, can match. Mix in a little bit RB talk from lost marine add a touch of oldbooster travel k times and You have the last 12 months on n54 tech summarized.

Got to take everything with a Grain of Salt...
When I had my E90, it was tuned with a PROcede, but now that i have my N55 X5, I'm looking to beta test the JB3... Does that make me a traitor? Probably in some people's eyes on this forum... BUT, until Vishnu/Shiv come out with the new Harness/Firmware for the PROcede, why should I wait to be tuned? IF I can help one Tuner or the other, or both, why shouldn't I? I don't plan on selling my PROcede, and I probably will buy the JB3 when it comes out of beta for the N55, and still have the PROcede and be able to test it out and give a pro's and con's of the BMS and VISHNU N55 piggyback system later on. Each tune (and tuner) have their good and bad points. But if you let yourself to swayed to one side or the other, your not open minded enough for either one... My .02 cents... Take it how you will... But I don't think a Forum War is needed... Just understand that it should be constructive criticism, and not fanboism...

Probalby Andrew because isn't as prevalant as the other tunes... We just don't hear too many folks talk about the cpe tune. It may very well be great but it's not been (documented/real world tested) much by users of the forum.

I skulk in the other forum and found this thread.
http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6729 ---> Recycling Procede. I prefer this forum b/c it appears to have more cooler, less opinionated heads. |

I would like to award this thread with "Today's Most Useless Thread" award....
All this is gonna do is start an argument amongst fellow members and have NO REAL/RELEVANT INFORMATION to help the community grow. Let the shit talking begin...oh wait, it already has.

I guess we're diverging from my original point ... but its entertaining.
Vishnu originally marketed as a system with lots of end user tuning settings, that was perceived as "complicated". Now with autotuning, its simple and better (you still have option to make it complicated if you like). BMS was originally marketed as a simple plug and play system. But it seems like they've moved to a more complicated implementation. The board swaps, different fueling resistors, send Terry logs (not just the screenshots of the logs) and he'll send you settings. Junk

I would have to agree. With JB3 2.0 there seems to be tons of user adjustable parameters that you have to mess with or you risk CEL's and limp modes. I was attracted to the JB3 in the beginning due to the simplistic set it and forget it approach but that changed dramatically with 2.0 which is why I stuck with 1.4 when i had my JB3. I tried 2.0 and didn't notice it being any smoother than 1.4 like people claimed and i got limp mode which i never did before with 1.4.
Now with the procede updating the firmware and maps couldn't be any easier compared to my old days of pulling the device out and removing the actual chip all of the time. Both tunes cater to different people and have a different price point. Alan

I know someone already mentioned it but the "other forum" IS OWNED/OPERATED BY BMS...JUST LIKE VISHNU HAS THEIR OWN FORUM FOR SUPPORT AND SUCH. I guess vishnu's forum is a fanboy one too, correct? Man, that just makes too much sense doesn't it. Wow, really guys, I'm not arguing for either tuner...competition benefits us ALL as a consumer. But there are just ignorant comments popping up everywhere. ::HINT::HINT:: look at quoted post in grey. I usually try to stay out of threads like this but damn...this is benefitting no one. lol I'm out, you guys can argue amongst yourselves now...

btw it's way worse here on this board, procede nuthuggers are constantly bashing the jb3 for no reason just to justify their decision why they paid almost twice as much for their tune. |
