5 month wait on Coupes? Wow
Just spoke to a dealer in central NJ.
5 month wait on ordering a 335i Coupe, at least in the ny/nj/pa/ct area. My car is delivered and SURVEY IS DONE(plus my CA is cool), so there's absolutely nothing for him to gain to make up something like this. Basically, other dealers aren't willing to give up their 335i to other dealers, and the dealers that sell well (populated area, good service, etc.) are completely running out of stock. IF YOU GOT AN E92 335i, BE HAPPY ! You don't know how long people are willing to wait and what people are willing to pay to get these things now that the word is out.... I, for one, am very happy with the slight 'exclusivity' factor (yea yea, i know, it ain't no ferrari or anything, but still....) Last edited by akwhite330i; 01-11-2007 at 01:37 PM.. |

Dealer also mentioned that BMW may be limiting the production of e92 335i in preparation for the 535i coming out in a few months.....

Why would you do a survey before you got delivery of the car. Stealers are always nice, etc. when they are selling - it is the delivery and finding out what promises they aren't going to keep that is key to the survey.

it may be true, though it doesn't make much sense. i remember some dealers were pulling shit like that with E90s too their first year too and i had my custom-ordered car here in 6 weeks. there was all kinds of bullshit made up about shortage of aluminum, wood and stuff like that none of which turned out to be affecting BMW production.
anyway, all i'm saying is that statements like these should be taken only half-seriously because it very well may be just another marketing move.

I have yet to see another e92 335i in Manhattan. I've only seen two 328i coupes so far.

If you do PCD you can widen your survey nationally...you might want to give that a try. GL.

got $1000.00 over invoice, the SA was very courteous at delivery and took a long drive with me, and the finance person didn't attempt to hard-sell me on any extras or service plans. |

Yea, I should clarify, it's for the e92 335i's.... not e90 335i's, not e92 328i's.
Russellnyc, were you parked in Chinatown before? I saw a gray 335i (at least according to SP the rims) on Bayard? But then again, I passed by the car so you would have seen my black 335i... we should organize a NYC meet sometime soon. |

Touch off topic here, sorry I'll make it brief ....Hi all I'm IGuy, and this is my very first post here! I've been reading some of the posts here for about a week now. I must say this forum rocks! I'm now in possession of a owners manual, have some idea of who "Vishnu" is, heard a 335i with a BOV, and didn't realize that there was a M body kit (OEM) available for the 335I. |

Guys,
Unfortunately this is reality. The coupe's are in that high of demand. A 4-5 month wait is easily possible. It is unfortunate BMW can't ramp production up anymore. BMW is not intentionally trying to spite 335i Coupe buyers, they were just unprepared for the demand. The E46 coupe's were never super popular, and the E46 sedan outsold the coupe 9 to 1, so they assumed the same would be for the E90. Obviously not. This summer the wait should die down. It is projected that supply should even out with demand then. Will |

I just check and still no production number, but I should have one in 2-3 weeks. dealer is simply out of allocations for E92 335's. He expect I will get a Late Feb or early March build date and that will put the car in my garage early to mid April. Who ever thought I'd look forward to Tax time!

No production numbers unless dealers have open slots. Once slots open up is when you are assigned a production number. Dealers with slots that aren't open go into the "Order Bank" where they are just sitting, waiting to be put "On Order". |

Hey Will, how long is it "generally" once you get the production number to actually taking delivery in Cali? My E46 in 2001 got here is about 8 weeks from start to finish. Thanks
