TRISTAN ROLL CALL! Left 1/12 to West Coast (DE555240)

Woo hoo! My car finally made it on a ship! It's a WW ship too. Looks like BMW might not be using NYK as much as we thought.

Looks like 505 BMWs are on board along with mine, which was booked about three days before production was completed and arrived at the terminal about 5 days after. The ship departed Bremerhaven on Friday, 1/12; scheduled to arrive in Port Hueneme on 2/6.

Search for bill of lading DE555240.

So is anyone else on board with me? Or am I riding solo all the way to Port Hueneme? I guess 500 BMWs is a little smaller than the typical shipment, which seems to be closer to 1000+.

Just found out!

My 335i Sedan is on the Tristan as well and I can't wait! I've been checking everyday. So I guess we set sail 3 days ago. Let's see if we can track this baby all the way to Port Hueneme!

:rocks: :rocks: :rocks:

Here's the itinerary for this voyage of the Tristan (looks like we're in Southampton today!):

Fuhreeezing here in L.A. I couldn't believe it, I actually had to scrape ice off my windshield this morning!

Probably not as cold as on the old Tristan, seen below headed due southwest leaving the English Channel:

(Look a little below where the AIS logo is in the upper right of the image!)

Keep chuggin' along!

Congrats 808!

How long do you have to wait for shipping to Hawaii?

IS that included in your destination charge?

It's about a 75 minutes from the VPC to the docks at Long Beach, then onto a Matson ship for a 4 day sail to Oahu. Matson sails twice a week (Wed/Sat) from LB to Hawaii. I'm hoping that if the Tristan docks 2/6 and I can get through the VPC in a timely fashion, I should be able to make it on the 2/17 ship coming here.

Yes, it's included - well, there's no extra charge to me anyway. Probably part of the dealer's overhead costs. Retail auto shipping on Matson is $975,

Here we are off the NW corner of the Iberian peninsula:

We've got eight days til' the boat hits civilization again. I think I'll go read the owners' manual or something!

Ah, it's almost like we got a special "charter" for our two cars!

So you were able to find the Tristan on sailwx? When I tried it back when she first sailed the only info was from last november.

Yup, it's gonna be torture to last until she docks on 2/6. I think I read the manual twice already and watched the production video twice!

Hmmm, seems my ship has stopped reporting it's position to sailwx. Last report was still off the coast of spain on the 19th. Anyone know of any other ship tracking resources besides sailwx & aislive?

Amazing, I can't imagine scraping one's windshield in LA!

Good luck, your experience should be like mine, meaning that everything does proceed according to schedule. You'll have your car soon!

I hate it when the ship stops reporting. Worries me that it hit an iceberg or something... Looks like we're back on track - even made some good progress! Should be in Georgia in 4 days! And then its just a matter of time til we

Wow - must have just updated. Too bad we have to stop in GA - I wonder why? I don't recall any of the other recent WW ships stopping there - usually they go straight thru to Manzanillo and the canal.

Hehe, too bad we can't race. I think we'd win - we only have 500 BMWs on board, so less weight. Are you guys stopping in GA too?

Just a question...how do you find out the bill of lading number? Is there a way to get that by searching for the name of the ship?

Once you find your car by searching for your VIN, the BOL number is in the details at the top.

Hey, I just realized we are behind schedule! I just checked sailwx and we're still pretty far out at sea. We were supposed to arrive in Georgia today (see itinerary earlier in this thread!). I wonder if the seas have been choppy...

Hope my baby is ok!

actually, you aren't supposed to hit GA till Saturday...you must have been delayed because of the weather in germany.
