BMW need to step up their game !!
What do you guys think ? I mean yes the lci angel eye look nice and all but it's got nothing compare to the new Audis, I pass by brand spanking new a8 tonight on 495 and holy shit is all I can describe about their headlight they are now ditching the projector going full LEDs ! I didn't even think the led was bright enough to project to the road but damn they are bright ....
Moving on the Lexus they also have full blowing interior led that's nice and warm which I miss when I trade my Lexus gs430 for the bimmer . I feel like BMW havent improve anything major with their lighting which is lame !!! What do you guys think ??

The BIG downside to those headlights (if they are anything like the LED running lights in an A4) is that if one LED burn out you have to replace the entire headlight. I've read stories about A4's that have had one LED burn on on the DRL strip and the only way was to replace the entire headlight which is around a grand or something ridiculous.

I see tons of a4s driving around with either entirely burnt out daylight running strips on one side or random non-functioning LEDs. Sure it looks cool and they'll fix it under warranty, but they'll take your anal virginity once it runs out.

I also believe the standard setting is for the DRL to shut off temporarily when you use the turn signal on the side that is blinking.

Possible but I've seen a handful just driving around. There aren't too many audis where I am, let along new ones. So seeing a few really makes me wonder.

We have to do this step by step...
First we have to make BMWs NOT ugly...to begin with. I'm looking at the new designs for the 5 series, 6 series, and so on...and all I can say is WTF? |

I live in a town where german cars are pretty much all you see. I seriously think i see more BMW, audi, and Porsche over honda. I would say about 1/4 of the audi that ive seen have one of the LED strips out. Porsche kinda has the same LED strip as audi, so do some Mercedes i believe? But only Audi seems to have problems with them staying on all the time.
Also yes they do turn off when the turn signal is on, and it looks horrible. Who looks at that and goes 'I like that !'? Another problem that i've noticed is that some of them have more yellowish strips and some have white... not sure if the newer ones have the white ones and the older ones have the yellow or it just depends on the options on the car? |

i think so too.
i also don't like how the LEDs turn off when the turn signal is being used. i think they would have looked so much better if the strip is just one solid glass like the angel eyes or the taillights of the BMW hybrid concept and it just uses a single light source behind it. or maybe if the strip itself turns orange and serves as a turn signal instead of it turning off and another light comes on.

I think LEDs on the Audis look cheesy but not as bad as the tacked on led strips they stick on the 911s.
I have also noticed a bunch of them burnt out, although it is correct that they shut off when you have the turn signal on. But I notice at least 1 or more a day burnt out around here, there is a S5 down the street its been burnt out since May and he still hasn't fixed it!!!! I'd be loosing sleep if I knew there was something that needed to be fixed or done to my car that's only a phone call away, especially if its covered under warranty To the guy who thinks the new 5 and 6 are ugly are you looking at the same car that everyone else here is???? The 5 is GORGEOUS and the 6 looks to be even more AMAZING than the last

You guys are all BMW fanboys.. The new Audi A8's headlights take a huge dump on anything BMW has out right now.. And as for them burning out, LED's are supposed to last many many times longer than regular bulbs so maybe you either see them when a turn signal on or they just had a defective bulb..
And the lci e92 angel eyes are nothing that special.. They are like lux h8's on steroids but no where near that of OSS..
