angel eyes on '09 e90 335xi. lighting guru read plz

so i was just looking through the forum and i noticed many of the members here change their angel eyes as their first mod. so i've decided to go with that. i've been searching and turns out the most popular ones are:
- City Vision RD ($149.99)
- MDS LUX H8 ($229.99)
- GP THUNDER 8500K H8 PLASMA V2 ($16.99)

which one is your personal recommendation? and why?

i also noticed that their prices are different. gp thunder ones are about 1/10 of the other ones. what's the reason for that? also, are there any codes thrown due to changed light bulbs? thanks in advance

after some more research, it seems that gp thunder ones only fit e92. so i guess gp thunder is out.
so what would be the best angel eyes for '09 e90 lci with xenon headlamps model? thanks.

I have the City vision which I like but they aren't that bright during a bright sunny day. But it's dark/gloomy most of the time here so I'm happy. But I've thought about switching to the Lux especially since I'm moving to Texas soon. From all the reading I've done, you should go with the RSS if you can afford it and can deal with the pain of sending them in the mail to get done....otherwise, go with the LUX. But if you don't want to spend the money, the City vision from **********s are nice....and no, you won't throw any codes...all the places guarantee that...

And you want to do this mod because you like it/want it or because everybody else is "doing it?"

Look into the WeissLicht LED halos, they are a direct LED upgrade that do a great job.

This is going to sound harsh but you need a plan or you're just a lemming tossing away money.

JB3 is more power (that you probably won't use very often)
AE is something you'll seldom see and other probably don't know about when they see it
Exhaust is sound

You're all over the map. Do you have money burning a hole in your pocket that you've got to spend on modding?

Check out some performance driving schools - it'll beat your JB3 equipped car with a non-trained driver and might just save your life.

Then, make a plan about how YOU want to mod your car - not the guy down the street or like some guy on some forum.

On that list, write down the advantages and disadvantages. Then decide.

You do know that the JB3 will cause you drivetrain warranty woes and the AEs will give you electrical warranty grief - right?

that was a good lesson. thanks.
well first of all, i'm aware that mods are not neccessary to have. i always wanted a faster car so jb3 i will get someday, but i was going to wait untill my warranty ends.
as for lights, i heard they don't have much warranty problems, and since they are cheaper, i've decided to go ahead with the lights first.
money wise, i've been saving up some money for the mods so about $200 i can afford.

fyi CB is going to still ridicule you for this lol

nonetheless, no matter what mod you put in, just take it out before service

and regarding CB's

I completely disagree

I get compliments on my HID Angels from both BMW enthusiast and non-enthusiasts alike

Especially at night when I unlock the car

People who don't know the difference between a 328 and a M3 notice the HID AEs

I agree with the part about not really using the power that often (unless you track ) and that paying for driving school is better

but you cannot judge if this individual will or will not track his car
or whether he has or hasn't taken one (or several) driving classes

For all we know, he could have dozens of classes under his belt and track his car weekly
Thus, the JB3 would be a good add-on for him (though other supporting mods would be highly recommended, if not required)

Regarding drive-train... if the car has warranty, and you don't plan on keeping it past warranty... well you know where that is going.

I'm not disagreeing with you; just saying you shouldn't judge too quickly :P

You get what you pay for. Personally I wouldn't look at anything besides LUX and Weisslicht.
