Harmon Kardon v Individual Audio
I've just taken delivery of my 330i and am not sure I've made the right choice going with Harmon Kardon..
Has anybody had experience of the two in a e92? Unfortunately Individual is pretty rare and was something I could not test before buying! |

I have HK (Logic7) in my E90 and thinks it's great - OK will never be as good as individual but for the money it's a good priced upgrade.
Try using these settings posted below - I ran mine for over 12 months before trying these and they made a huge difference. I was not sure when I was programming them in, as they were vastl different to my old 'personal' settings, but they changed the sound of the whole system for the better. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ogic7+settings Be interested to hear how you get on! |

Don't worry - I have the Individual system in my E92 and i'm not that impressed with it. It is only marginally better than my old Logic7 system in my opinion - and in bass response it is notably worse.

That's one of my deciding factors for going with the HK as i read the bass is lacking for individual ....

I would say though, that the 6 series has far better acoustics than the 3 series. The doors are bigger and deeper so will prob make better speaker 'enclosure' than the smaller thinner doors of the 3 series. I would also say that the interior trim would be more 'solid' on the 6 series, it will all add up to better acoustics.

Nips I do agree the HK setup seems to be missing something. Cant put my finger on it whilst listening to music. It just seems ever so slightly muffled at present. Hopefully about 24 hours of playing time should help things to improve.
Those settings FAST aren't as revolutionary as i hoped they would be. Definitely need to turn treble and bass up more than whats recommended! |

I actually had my bass and treble set quite high before, as thats how I tend to like my music, which i why it felt so wrong when changing to those settings.
I almost changed it straight back, but give it some time. I have re-listened to albums which IMO now sound better than when I have listened to them before with the old settings. Mine is an E90 so slightly different settings and setup to a coupe, not sure if that alters anything? |

I have HK and it is a good sounding system considering its from factory. Bass isn't loud, more just geared towards sq.
In all honesty though the HK system in our old 2005 e320 was much better sounding |

On a side note, I have the BMW Business loudspeaker upgrade and find it a big improvement over the standard equipment and for £390 well worth it.

I had the old Professional DSP (before is was named Logic7/'56' plate) in my old E92 which I thought was absolutely brilliant. I guess the newer HK kit is pitched at the same level. Surprised you're not praising it in that case (M3-FAST is in fairness) so maybe the HK is in fact slightly inferior to the old upgraded kit. I've not heard the HK kit.

It stays crystal clear up to insane volumes, including a balanced bass. It's not going to shake the fillings out of pensioners, however.

What are the opinions on the stock sound system? I generally read in the posts that it "sucks." But no one further explains. I have also read "low volume"
Whats wrong with the stock sound system? No harmon kardon? |

Basic system has an output of only 4 x 15w and the sub-woofers have to share the power output of the front speakers - not at all ideal. And the stock system has no tweeters at all.
Adding tweeters by themselves makes it sound a little better but amplification is needed to give the sound any depth. |

i have the logic 7 sound system. i added a pioneer z110bt deck and a seperate amp to power a 12" kenwood sub.
this made the sounds crystal clear and the bass to boot. but it was teh deck with better digital processing that made better sounds come out of my l7 speakers. |

My golf runabout has a better stock system with more speakers and much better sound quality than the 335i's stock system. And it aint easy finding a 335i with HK, not very popular in the UK for some reason? |
