Bayside BMW, Hands down the worst dealer I've ever delt with

Brought my car in for some issues I'm having with it and this dealer literally held my car for two days and did nothing with it. Some of the issues included a terrible whining siren sound from the car, which sounds like a failing turbo, squealing breaks, interior trim. The siren sound they deemed normal, even though with a cold start I can hear it over the radio some times, the break issue they claim is only dirty breaks and they cant do anything about it, the steering wheel trim is supposedly normal wear and tear for the car? Right now I'm not sure if I paid for a $50,000 car or a pre owned ford with the service I'm getting from this place. Any one have any else have issues like this from this place? and does anyone know of a dealer that deals with warranty claims in a better manor then Bayside did?

I agree. Take your car to Hassel, which has much better service. Last time I went to Bayside, the dude got my car and said he'll park it for me. He then left my key in the car with the car off and the window open.......and it was raining!!! I had to go in take out my keys and close the window and bring it in to the SA. Could of sat there with the window open and raining for hours if I didn't notice. Horrible.......

Its insane man I've brought my car to that dealer three times already and the most I've ever gotten out of them is software reprogramed. Only reason I bring it there was because its the only way I can get a loaner, and even with that I'm left with either a Mazda mini van or a Honda Civic. This time they actually had the nerve of actually fitting me along with two other people in to a small Volvo convertible to drive us to the nearest Enterprise branch where I waited another hour for a rental.

Pace BMW treats me like a king. The siren noise is typically normal IMO, I've seen at least 2 other N54s with the same noise, and mine is no different. The brake issue I also had, they took the pads off, cleaned them and the noise went away.

They're a little out of the way (Westchester county) but every SA i've dealt with there is very down to earth and tell it straight.

I also hate Bayside BMW. I went in there inquiring about a 135i, their response was "oh its about 50 grand, do you still want one?" I walked right out

From my old thread "BMW Bayside Service: Went in to an fix angel eye, came out with a 12+ inch scratch" (8/21/09):

Now, I brought my car in this morning to have a burned out angel eye replaced. Upon picking up the car, I inspected it and found three dark scratches and a nick in my rear bumper, and a long thin scratch that stretches for over a foot on the side of my car. I then spoke to my service advisor, who referred me to the service manager. Let me just begin by saying that this guy was RUDE. He spoke down to me and belittled me, accused me of bringing in the car with the scratches to put the blame on BMW of Bayside, told me that they didn't see the scratches when they inspected the car in the morning because my car was dirty (even though I washed it yesterday), and even had the nerve to walk away from me as I was still talking to him. I said, "I'm not going to take the car off the lot unless you repair it, or write in a note stating that you will repair it on my second service visit." He responded by turning his back to me, walking away, and yelling "SO LEAVE IT."

I was appalled by how this situation was handled, especially by the "service manager." I advise everyone to save yourself the trouble and stay away from BMW of Bayside service. I am NEVER bringing my car back there again.

So how did it go down? Did you just take back the car with the damages? I would be dilaing BMWUSA corporate office on the spot!

I leased two cars from them, X3 and now the X5, only bought it in for an annual service on the X3 so i can't really comment on the serice dept. But the experiences dealing with their sales staff for me at least were pleasant. They gave me $500 over invoice for the X5 (when the LCI 2011s first came out no less) and when after taking delivery I realized the car didn't come with a cargo cover (bad bad move by BMW) I bitched to the sales manager and he got me a free one pronto.

BMW of Bayside

I have been the Center Operator for BMW of Bayside since the beginning of 2010. Since then we have been in the process of completely reorganizing the company and have a new management staff in every department except for the parts department. We have recently moved in to a dedicated 42 bay Service Center in Great Neck, about to complete the renovations of a dedicated pre-owned showroom in Bayside and will be renovating the existing showroom in Douglaston. Our goal is provide the BMW drivers of Long Island and Queens with the quality customer service that you expect and the most competitive prices in the market. We know we have much work to do. My direct dial number is 516.304.3740 and my email is wfinsilver@bmwbayside.com Please do not hesitate to contact me with any problems, questions or concerns.

I'm not going to lie, I've heard really bad things about BMW of bayside. I'm in Whitestone, but i picked up my car from Competition in Smithtown. But i commend Bill for coming on here and being on top of things.
