This is a final update to my EQ settings I previously posted. Much better sound and so far the best acoustics in the cabin

The following are settings I have currently are all positive settings (to the "right-of-center" when adjusting the parameters on the radio - I have no I-drive):

80 +4 bars
200 +6 bars
500 +5 bars
1K +4 bars
2K +5 bars
5K +4 bars
10K +3 bars

Bass +3 (to the right)
Treble + 5 (to the right)

w/ the "fader" set one bar to the rear.

seemingly funny curve if you drew it out, but it works best with all kinds of music I find. Better than Flat.

But please, any suggestions would be fantastic!!!!! Oh, and if anyone wants to turn this into a sticky, feel free to copy and paste.

I have had my mind blown by the power of the L7's eq. Have had my E92 for a few weeks on a flat eq, and was really digging it. Moving the Fader to the rear made a HUGE diff by itself, but upping the bars throughout the spectrum also just made an insane difference. Thank you for your input. What has everyone been setting the S-Vol setting to? I have heard disabling the L7 part (The 7.1 up conversion) actually makes things sound BETTER, any thoughts?

Been playing around with it myself. Left it in concert mode....sounds better than having it off. Need to shift/fade a couple of bars to the rear. I'll do that tomorrow when I play around with the iDrive. Still learning the system.

S-Vol refers to speed sensitive Volume. I actually only have this at 2 bars as I rarely drive with both windows open.

As for the two surround modes you can choose from, I have tried both with numerous settings.....no matter what, the standard setting is the best overall. CONCERT sounds too centered in the middle of the dashboard and the other setting sounds like the sound is too "surroundy" and not full.

The settings above are my personal best choice for ALL types of music. This way I fiddle with the acoustic settings less and spend more time enjoying the drive. Once in a while with minor Bass or Treble adjustments, but otherwise, none really required - for my ears at least

well SROC3 I try your configuration for the AUX ( my ipod) make it sound GREAT I only change the Bass to 5 intead of 3

for the SAT is perfect

for the FM is perect but I choose 4 on Treble

now for the CD I did not like it for some reason it sound bad I just leave it flat

but does logic 7 come as part of the Professional Hi-Fi system (option 677).

I've just ordered this for my E93, and judging by what I've read here, Is sounds a good investment.

Yes it does come as part of that I believe. It is DEFINITELY worth the investment. these systems are specifically tuned for the acoustics of the car. You can go and buy an aftermarket system for couple of $$$$ but why do that? BMW already went thorugh the trouble of having the best possibel sounding system for the money.

I don't like any of the advanced "modes".....the normal one is the best really for overall sound so far.

If you have no I-Drive, "Concert Mode" is reached by:

- pressing the "music note" button on the radio
- turn the dial clockwise until it goes into the "next" section the right.
- you will then see the two available modes - Music & Cinema (or concert)

I believe this feature is only in the newer 07 models and not found in the '06....I think. My buddy has an M3 and he does not have this option.

well I like music mode better I only choose cinema mode for classical music

I believe it is a surround sound setup - more like what you get in a theater.
There is also a slight sound delay to some of the speakers. That also makes the sound "fuller". You also get better placing of the instruments and voices ie you can tell where they are relative to the other instruments etc.

Try the settings and see if they make the sound better.

I have one off-topic question about Logic 7: the 335i owner's manual says that the system has 13 speakers (including the subs), but I could only count 9 + 2 subs (under the seats?), so 11 total. Am I missing something? Also, the subs are not very pronounced, I can't actually "feel" the one under the driver's seat.
