18" Matte Black Forgestar F14s w/ Hankook Ventus V12s

my friends,

wheels finally arrived and were mounted on my space gray 2011 e92 335i a couple days ago. here are some pics with my AWESOME point and shoot digi cam. specs as follows:

Front: 18 x 8.5, 235/40R18
Rear: 18 x 10, 265/35R18

i am thinking a drop would really bring the package almost all the way together, but i've reached my expenditure limit for a while . in the meantime, i'm going to work on the RIDICULOUS chrome trim. anybody know where to buy oem shadowline trim for less than a grand? i mean, a grand????

many thanks to Gary at the Tire Rack and Alan at **********s - really appreciate the help and service, guys!

not sure about the offsets. the stock wheels came straight off the hubs, and the f14s went straight on the hubs. no spacers, no adjusting, no nothing. really quite simple, and i agree that these wheel widths (8.5F and 10R) fit pretty much perfectly on the car .

looks great, if you want a temporary solution, you can vinyl wrap the trim, bmwshadowline.com sells the vinyl really cheap, you can do it yourself like that and im sure a local tint/wrap place could do it for you cheap as well. Painting the trim works too, I wouldnt look to swap the whole trim, its a pain the ass and dent in your wallet

appreciate the reply...matter of fact, i tried the bmwshadowline.com solution, and you can check out the results (or lack thereof) at my post here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=435939. i've got a bead on a painting solution from member LKN_M3 in charlotte - just a little gun shy i guess. need to figure it out and then consider taking a saturday to get my ass up there.

It was my pleasure helping you out with the wheel setup and the Forgestar F14 looks amazing on your E92 LCI 335i! In terms of the shadowline trim, I would recommend that you take it to your local vinyl shop. This should cost no more than $120-$150 depending on their hourly rates!

The Forgestar F14 in Brushed Titanium is a pretty unique finish that I haven't seen on any other wheels out. I'll go ahead and shoot you over a PM with more details!

I also want to let you guys know that the offset of the wheels are determined by the experts at Forgestar on 99% of the orders and only about 1% of customers specify the offsets that they want. Forgestar will guarantee that your wheels will fit 100% without any issues such as rubbing, yet provide you with the most aggressive and flush fitment as possible just like shown above.

You can just order 328 window trim. It'll be like $300 and more of a satin black. That's what I did for my 330.

If you go to the dealership and ask them for black trim for a 335, they'll bring up the $1000 shadowline trim. Tell them you want 328 trim and the price will be MUCH less.

Nice wheels and yes, I HATE chrome too!

Here's my car with the black trim. It's exactly what you're looking for. Stock parts so the quality is good and it doesn't cost a fortune.
Looking at the color of your wheels, the 328 trim will be VERY similar in color. Wait till you see the size of the boxes they come in!

man your car looks great, and the black trim is a great idea. however, i just checked with tischer and here's the bad news: while you can get the e90 trim kit for $380, the e92 trim kit will cost $810.

i'm sorry, did you say more than double the cost? yes, unfortunately i did. oh, ok, excuse me while i all over myself.

any other ideas ???

Your car looks great with the new wheels, do you have the stock sport suspension?

I am waiting eagerly for my V12s to wear out so I can buy a set of light weight rims and tires. My main objective is to lose more weight, rather than looking aggressive. Does Forgestar come with 17" rims? If so how much weight loss compared to the stock 17" rims?

UGH!!! Wow, that stinks!

Maybe post up a swap with someone who wants chrome on their 328. You never know what might show up.

cool man. i will tell you what i was told: forgestar wheels are made via a "flow forming" process that results in very strong wheels that weigh very little. it's the next best thing to forged wheels, but at a pretty good price discount.

fact: my forgestar 18" wheels weigh around 18-19 lbs, and my oem 17" rims weighed around 26 lbs (i think).

fact: the guy who put my wheels on the car remarked that he had never seen such a lightweight set of wheels (for whatever that is worth).

recommend you hit up alan************.com (via email or PM) to get the tried and true sales pitch. good luck!
