Turbos sound a little loud

Seems like my turbos sound a little loud is that possible ? What is the problem ?

Its because the temps are colder outside since you live in MOSCOW
When temps drops you hear the turbos spool much louder. Turbos LOVE cold temps and the car runs so much better!

+1, Check out the post thats labeled...."cold weather is like running free meth." I can def. feel a difference here in Va, in the morning its around 40 degrees F.

It would be hard to get a sound clip , is there any kind of test to see if my turbos are working good ?

lol got you, i'm running with out a tune or meth now is dci and downpipes are killing my low end a little bit ?

Just wanted to mention a couple things: FWIW, turbo sound from my '07 335i did not get louder in cold weather. So it's not a given.

For some reason, on this car the DME adjusts for air density, attempting to keep power delivery consistent. Even though it's safer to run higher boost with colder charge, the DME lowers boost targets in cold weather. (Not so on my RX7 R1.) That why autotune should be fun this winter.

so u say that with dci u lose power i dynoed my car and i gain hp not lost also gained torque now i have only dci and all stock my numbers are 320 hp (to crank) and 420 torque, comparing with my baseline dyno in all ways its better even to have only dci and all stock

You dyno it with the hood opened, and a lot of air coming in from the fans, and you might be gaining HP but on the low end with intakes you usualy lose just a little

Absolutely! I picked about about 1psi in teh 30degree wheather here in WI. The power is unbelievable. Now if only cold weather could improve traction I'd try to set a tune + FMIC 1/4 mile record! I imagine my trap would be awesome in this cold!

I assume boost increased due to effective octane increase (don't have to pull timing at higher pressure). Every ~25-30F decrease is 1 octane point (AKI) increase (So 91 octane at 30F is roughly equivalent to 93 octane at 85F, and 93 octane at 30F same as 95 at 85F)

Further, every ~11F decrease is a 1% increase in air density, which should be equivalent to 1% more power. So a drop from 85F to 30F is 5% increase in power or a 15HP gain.

The (safe) power gains due to cold weather could easily be be over 25-30HP.
