GIAC Stage II dyno results
I might as well get crucified up front, I didn't do a baseline dyno when I got the car but anywho...
I took my car to Bottle Blown Racing today in Camarillo before my Westmont College Choir concert at Biola University. I arrived at the shop at 8am and met Brook and Tommy. Both have full time jobs but run this shop as a hobby on the weekends and late weeknights. They are really knowledgable and cool guys to talk to. Brook has a 640whp 04 Cobra, and to make matters worse, it looks all stock from the outside Anywho, I need to give the background settings for this whole shabang, because no matter what numbers you throw down it all depends on the environmental settings. Some people like to dyno the car when its 50 degrees out and optimal temperature, which is fine to get peak numbers, but this was a more accurate "California" reading. So, the conditions sucked, but here they are... 8:00am 71 degrees 70% humidity Modifications: GIAC Stage 2 Match Shnell Catless DPs Custom Borla Race Exhaust ER Competition Intercooler ER Charge Pipe w/ TIAL BOV aFe dual cone intake aFe hood scoops I was running about a 96ish octane (combined mostly 91 and 5 gallons 109); I have not installed my methanol injection yet (midterms were last week). The Results: 404whp and 398wtrq @ a very safe 15.6psi VIDEO: As an analysis, it took them about 5 runs to get those numbers. The first run was around 370whp, lol. Tommy was the driver and didn't realize that the turbos spool up so quickly, so multiple runs were needed. I also love the curve because the HP peaks right after the torque starts to decline and the HP holds really nicely. It is a gorgeous graph and congrats to GIAC for making such a great product. I would comment that it did run a little rich for my taste, but I think that will be somewhat corrected with the meth but I could be wrong. I talked to Brook and Tommy and I will set up an appointment in the upcoming weeks when the weather gets a little better. Brook said that if I come during a weeknight when the temp is about 60 degrees with 20-30% humidity, while running meth and my racing wheels I should be around 430whp+ with stage 2 race. I will also run some stock mode runs. Thanks for looking and hopefully this will get some people to AT LEAST TRY GIAC!!! -Mike

I wanted to attempt to try a race map large number, but in the end Brook said it wouldn't matter that much because the meth also cools down the air as well as essentially raising octane levels, which I didn't consider before. The stage II is 1k and the race tune is 200 more.

I could be wrong but this could be due to heat soak and humidity. This was the 5th run and was conducted after a 5 min cool-off from the previous pull.

wait, just realized something is off...you're running stg 2 map, dynoed 400whp AND on 15psi...those 3 things DO NOT sit well together with me...i think at least 2 more PSI was involved here for that whp or this dyno is reading about 30whp high OR the boost graph is for the 370whp dyno pull??

so those are calculated #'s based on some sort of inflation delta over a superflow?

Yup, Harold flashed it. And I have basically said "F you" to the warranty with everything I have.
