Perf center delivery - need advise

Hey guys..

I just bought a new BMW 328i and am taking delivery on 02/02. I was wondering if any of you could help me out with the following:

1) specific route you recommend for a drive from GSP to Chicago.

2) Any local attractions in the area you recommend?

3) How is the biltmore estate?

4) carpet mats or rubber mats?

5) Is the clear bra worth it?

6) ANy thing else you think is important!

FYI: This is my FIRST car so i am what you might call a NOOB... your help is much appreciated...

Thanks.

4) At this time of the year? The rubber mats might be better

5) Depends on your priorities. A member who did PCD recently indicated that there is a reputable clear bra installer in the vicinity of the Perf Center. He clear bra'd his car after delivery, prior to hitting the interstates. Might be worth checking out/staying the extra night.

Did you really just buy an E92 on 1/29 and are picking it up @ PCD on 2/2?

How many miles is your trip home? Mine is 740.

too bad you dont have time, but if you had atleast 14days before your planned travel you can call BMW Assist and they will provide you a route plan kit that is personaaly made for your trip. Not only does it have hotels, restaurants but it has nearby dealership along your travel route.

I guess this information maybe to late for you, but can be useful for other new BMW traveler in the future.

BMW Assist another great free program

Steve at Independent Restorations did my Clear Bra after taking delivery in Spartanburg. You can find him on xpel.com (you'll need the Spartanburg zip code). He's a certified installer although he may not be listed as one on the website, b/c he doesn't cut his own kits. Big deal. His work was great and I was in and out in 3.5 hours. He's definitely the closest, his shop is about 5 miles from the PCD and 2 miles from Greenville Marriott, which is where you'll stay.

I called a few weeks in advance to set up an appointment, so you'd better do the same. Since he uses the 3M product, it comes with a warranty on the product itself and installation, meaning if you have problems with the labor when you get home, a local guy should be able to fix it for you.

Another word to the wise. Now that aftermarket kits are becoming more available, I'm kicking myself for covering the front bumper b/c I think I just wasted some bucks getting it clear bra'd and if I install a new front bumper, I'd probably have to get it done again. So, if you're thinking about doing this, just get the hood and side mirrors done.
