Did anyone weigh the Helix intercooler ?

Hi,

I am interested in knowing the weight of the Helix intercooler but I can't seem to find any mention of it on this forum or the manufacturer web site. I found one mention of 10.6kg on another forum, did anyone actually weight it before install ?

Thanks !
Catalin

Mine is still sitting in my living room. If I remember, I will weigh it sans couplings and report the results.

It´s so heavy I had to order a set of catless downpipes to equal out the weight to avoid understeer
It´s realy a great product and I´m so happy with mine

Why isn't it on your car? Haven't put it on yet or did you take it off? Wanna sell it?

no issues at all, i have add mine for 18 months, NO issues whatsoever. been driving everywhere.
The IC has been out couple of times and there were no problems or wear on the connections. (just so you know its pretty much lthe same weight and dimensions of the wagner that you bought and want to sell now....)

In fact, I don't want to sell my Wagner anymore and intend to install it this week-end The weight was an issue, but I weighted it and it has 9.4kg, which is about 2.8kg lighter than the Helix if the 27-28lbs figure is correct. So I suppose it should be safe...

However, I am still concerned about the forces pressing on the 2 bolts when going over the occasional bumps. I suppose the hoses also play a role in supporting the intercooler...

Well, I just put it on my not-so-calibrated bathroom scale and only measured 22 pounds. I should take it to work and use the calibrated scale there, but I'm off until Monday.

It's not on my car, because I need time and the good graces of my cousin. He has a nice lift and a big garage with lots of tools. I have a cold, hard concrete driveway.

Can you weight yourself and then weight yourself while holding the intercooler ? It would be a very accurate reading
