Vorsteiner Hood... SOON!

I'm getting my Vorsteiner vented CF hood, courtesy of **********s, very soon. =)

I'm so psyched. I can't wait.

It'll be painted, except the vents, which will still show CF.

WHOOOO. :rocks:

it's nice, but iono on a mostly stock body paneled car, u should get some exterior addons unless u got the hood for only weight savings

from my opinion, leave it the carbon fiber look. Don't paint.
Red=black carton fiber hood

You know, that's a very good question. I didn't ask. I have seen the hood pins on the race car, but I don't think that they are necessary for installation on a stock car. I will find out for sure tomorrow.

The CF hood is extremely lightweight at around 20 lbs.

I'll post pics the MINUTE I finish the install.

I didn't know that about the hood shocks, guess I'll have to (a) MAKE them work... mwahaha.
or (b) start carrying an extendable hood prop in my trunk.

I would follow your advice if I had an E46.

However, the lines of the E90 don't allow for proper flow if I don't paint the hood. The red A pillars streaming down to a deadend stop at the CF hood would look extremely out of place.

If you don't agree, ok cool. don't paint YOUR cf hood, but I have to look at my baby every day, and she has to look good to ME. =)

agree with matt. if you look at pics of the seibon cf hood that were posted a while back, the flow of the body lines makes a non-painted hood look strange. Good decision ///Matt.

Paint it but put 2 off-center stripes of exposed CF. Then get roof and trunk panels to keep the CF stripes going. It would look sick.

why does colored CF look ghetto to you, maybe tacky, but not ghetto, ghetto is the sanded down hoods painted flat black

but anyway, i think it doesnt look bad, its the same as leaving a black hood IMO

Well, ok, not ghetto. Just not what I'd like to see on my car. =)

I REALLY like the way Vorsteiner hoods look when painted, but leaving CF vents. it's VERY aggressive.
