Service time + Aftermarket parts
Just curious,
Im due for routine maintenance in a couple weeks, and I have a dci, and jb3 on the way soon.. How anal is the dealer about maintenance and warranties being voided with aftermarket parts installed? thanks,

Depends on the dealer and service adviser. I always recommend customers to remove any piggy back unit from the car before going to the dealer. Its better to be safe than sorry your warranty got voided.

Build a relationship with your SA and your tech and you wont have to take it in and out everytime. Ive found that tipping really helps. So far Ive had no issues. But if you done know them very well, I would take them out. They dont care as much about exhaust or dci but as for a tune....they would void your warranty in a min. if they wanted to. Good luck OP.

What do you guys do with your Downpipes? As far as I know it will trigger a Engine check light, and a V4 or dpfix will offset the problem. Thing is how can you bring it in with either V4 or dpfix installed?

There is no reason to tip. Tipping to make sure work is done or look the other way is a bribe. Might as well wipe their ass and give them a BJ and in the end you will still have to lube up and grab your ankles at some point.

I would not go in with the JB, I brought my car in for a bad 02 sensor last week with my simota intake in and a muffler delete and they didn't say a word. I def. think software is where they will draw the line.

It all depends. I know people who've brought their car in fully catless with the o2 sim installed and never had an issue. Other dealers might refuse work but need to prove it's a result of what you changed... Mine basically told me they follow the "downstream" rule...dps will void your stock exhaust and cats but nothing in front of them

As gbree said, it greases the wheels for the relationship. David1 is once again being an ass, thinking he "knows it all." If you knew ANYTHING about how business relationships work, you would know that a little tip after service can go a LONG way. BTW David1, do you have any mods on your car? Because I do and I want to keep my warranty for as long as I can...so I tip both my SA and my Tech(mostly him bc he is doing the actual work on the car) because its much harder to turn down(void my warranty) a friend than it is to turn down a total stranger. Its about showing them appreciation, not kissing their ass. David1 you need to get your head out of your own ass before you start recomending what people should do on this forum.
