Chiptuning BMW 335d
Looks like they have chiptuned several BMW 335d.
i think this a good car to chiptune, i speak to a Dutch BMW dealer, and they send the BMW 335d to Ziptuning for chiptuning. Does anybody know this company? It looks very professional. Link to the data of the BMW 335d http://www.ziptuning.nl/chiptuning/Bmw-335d-286pk.html |

Hi i'm from Holland.
This company is new to me. And i am well known with the tuning scene here. I think you better go the a company withh a reputation. All my cars where tuned by JD engineering (also Holland) He knows what he is doing and very good service. He is one of the few guys who's doing it himself A lot of other companys buy the chip and say it's theirs. p.s. sorry for my English |

Ziptuning doesn't have a dyno, sort of testbench on which they measure your cars original HP and torque, then tune the chip, and afterwards show you the new attained power.
(example from 535D : http://www.kempower.be/NEWS/E60_61_535d_272hp_st1.jpg) So at ziptuning's they just replace/rewrite the original ECU and don't bother to test it, so how would you know if you get what they promise you? Of course that's cheaper then real engine tuning, where they make a new ECU program specifically for your engine (no 2 engines are exactly the same). I'm going to have my 320D done at Kempower, I've talked to lots of people who have experience with this company and they are all very satisfied to say the least. http://www.kempower.be http://www.kempower.be/whatis.htm

Why would 185mph sound unrealistic if the car is electronically limited to 155mph? So you're saying 30mph is not attainable? Come on.

I don't know ziptuning and 300 km/h sounds optimistic.. At Wetterauer (www.wetterauer.nl) they have two versions of the 335d a normal chip and a sport chip, the sport chip gets 340 hp and 660 Nm and has a top speed of 285 km/h..

Just have a look at the topspeed data of various cars and you notice that in order to achieve a top speed of 300km/h or beyond the hp figuer needs to be really high on average. That "300km/h" just makes Ziptuning to look unreliable.
