Uneven HID's?

Why is it that the HID's don't project light straight across the road? Actually, I guess I should as if they are supposed to, or are they supposed to project a bean that angles up higher on the right (like mine do)? It's odd to me that these projector headlights don't shoot a bean as flat across the road as my non-projector Tundra lights.

are you sure you have projectors? my projectors have a straight line across which is the clear cut off point.

They are slightly angled to be higher on the right and the right beam should be higher than the left beam. Its so you dont blind oncoming drivers.

I'm pretty sure they are projectors - they are the stock xenon's

Both beams project the same way (with the right side being higher). I have the lights adjusted to have the flat parts even, and the 'bump' to the right side matches up as well. I'd much rather have them be flat across, but I guess I'm stuck with the way they are. I will probably get used to it eventually.

Xenons....or HIDs aka halogen style.

They do this to avoid blinding oncoming drivers and to shine higher on the right side to reflect road signs. And they do the opposite on RHD vehicles for the same reason. Actually I believe that all newer cars, even with halogens, are designed to do this. I have noticed this in my girlfriend's Jetta and several other vehicles with and without projectors.

My 2010 Tundra has regular headlights, and they make a straight line across the road. It does make sens about why it's higher on the non-drive side - I was kinda figuring that was a possible reason before I asked.
