STETT FMIC - Why wouldn't you get one?
Hi folks,
I was originally planning on purchasing the HPF intercooler but recently I've been exploring other options. So I stumbled upon the STETT Performance FMIC: I am not looking for recommendations for an intercooler! Instead, I am looking for your feedback and any reasons why you would not consider buying the STETT unit?

Not a problem for me because the price is comparable to the HPF unit which I was planning on. I REALLY like this thick mounting bracket at the bottom. It serves as a protective plate as well.
I was mostly concerned about the core design/flow/sizing comparisons...

I wouldn't consider it because of the design of the intercooler. Everyone has their own opinions as to design. IMO an intercooler with more depth is more efficient for our cars than one that has less depth and more height. Bumper blocks the upper regions of intercooler with height. Also I feel it blocks air to radiator

I wonder if you can get one of those Stett FMICs without that annoying ass stencil. I don't need to scream tuner to the world while I drive to work and back. Still too expensive. Drop that thing to around $799 then we're within reason.

No IO mean the actual desgin of the endtank.
Both inlet and outlets are basically a 2.5 inch pipe welded into a flat piece of metal. Nothing smooth about that. Then the actual end tank is full of sharp joints and high degree angles, once again nothing smooth about that. |

the support is cool, as using the factory screws is kinda iffy for some of these huge cores, especially if you don't use accordian tubes that flex.
Sad part is, that that support probably took more "r&d" time the the intercooler itself lol |

Sad part is so true. Some of their parts seem to have more thought than the actual important piece especially the ones that have their logo etched to the metal!!! Lol

After looking at it it's the big Tom intercooler! Lol. Support brace is the only thing I like with this intercooler setup. Again before the vultures eat me alive for saying about this to a Stett product, this is my OPINION! There are no facts to support my opinions and they are just opinions!!!!lol
