You may want to remove the M-Badge on the back

That qualifies for clownage

But thats a nice collection of cars you have there

The GTi was faster than the M3, must certainly have been highly modified.

Yea the car came with the M badge, its a cheap ebay number too. it will be removed in the summer, along with the 330i badge.

Yip, spent about 8k on it, faster than my m3, or ill maybe re-phrase that, quicker than my m3, all verified with my racelogic !

The golf had the lot mate, turbo bk, intercooler, intake, divertor, giac extreme +, bigger fuel pump, walk kit, antiroll bars, coilovers, polly bushes, engine mounts, ap racing brakes and a load more.

Even just the remap on the car makes a big differance, defintootly a remap is a must on any turbo car IMO.

I thought the, 330d only mapped to about the same as the 330i ? (eg 270bhp ish). Is it much quicker mapped than a standard 330i ? I quite like the fact that you can hold on to the gears on the 330i as my golf munched through them ! ....... In a way I bought this car because of lack of tuning potential, as I didn't want to go down the golf road as we are saving for a bigger house, although now I'm sort of thinking fcuk it, I should of bought a 335 ! Too late now anyway, I've made the move and my next big purchase is a house ! It will be going in for the birds chasis pack next year on the way to the ring and hopefully some front brakes, thats it though, done ! ( bar a couple of exterior
bits and bobs )

Welcome to the forum...

Nice cars and your new one has one of the best 6 cylinder engines...ever made, so don't be disappointed.

Like yourself, I came from a GTi (but have owned BMW's in the past) and can believe how quick the GTi was. I had a couple of tweaks on mine and it was tremendous. I'd go as far as saying it's probably the best all round car I've ever owned -if you exclude fuel economy from the equation. Yes, even better than the BMW's.

Welcome to the forum! Car looks great, and the 330i is supposed to be the best sounding model in the non M range, better than the 335 a lot of people say.

In answer to your question about the power, you can't directly compare the bhp on these - the standard 330d (lci) is as quick as 330i despite having less power, so when modified its quite a bit quicker - the torque I guess. But if course D its won't touch yours for noise and revs

Cracking M3 (E46) and a nice looking E90.
If I'm honest I'd prefer the M3 even though it's an older car.
