Best E90 Short Shifter?

I haven't call the dealer to see what they want for the performance BMW short-shifter, but has anybody else replaced theirs? I'd like to shorten the throw a little. What did you end up going with? How much?

I have the performance ssk. It's a nice change from stock. The height isn't lowered, which IMO sucks, but it's firmer and has less slop to it.

A worthy upgrade. If I didn't get such a good price on mine, I'd pobably go with the uuc evo 3.

Cool. Thanks. Just read up on it. Would you do the DSSR too?

Just thought I'd share. UUC Motorwerks website currently has 15% off and free shipping. Just paid $300 for a short shifter for my 335. Can't wait.

Are you gonna install the shifter yourself?

To follow up can anyone comment on best for 325i? No UUC for anything but 335i that I can see.

This is what I have and I love it, you get the short shift kit and e-brake handle as a package which is cheaper. I was never a fan of the non-matching e-brake handle. Shorter throws and shorter shift knob.

This isn't an SSK - it's just the shift knob, brake lever, and boots.

I got the E46 M/Sport knob for about $50. I love it... it's shorter, weighted, and is leather which gives it excellent grip.

Short shifters are useless.
Best way is to learn how to handle the stick.

That's what she said.
But I have to diagree with you. BMW's shifters are way too long. I much prefer a small and precise one.

Thats nonsense, do your reading.
http://www.nexternal.com/uuc/article...Difference.htm

The only thing I am pissed about is that they havent even put my SSK in the mail after I ordered it nearly 3 weeks ago. I too got the discount and its a great deal but they need to get moving on their shipping. I know the weather is bad but for 3 weeks? I dont think so!

I'd call them if I were you. I've waited weeks on 3 separate orders in the past only to find out they cancelled them without telling me. They make a great SSK, but their shipping/backorders are some of the worst in the industry.

UUC is notorious for being slow...their manufacturing process is extremely slow as they always wait for "enough" orders before actually making them...given what you said I'd think they haven't even started making your kit yet...they're missing 4-6 more always to get started i actually cancelled my order after waiting a couple weeks and then got another just slightly used UUC SSK/DSSR from a member that parted out...good luck!

I have had both the UUC and the Rogue....Rogue is better and the customer service is top notch.

Thats sooo dumb, get the parts ready for shipment upon ordering or LOSE business. Sounds like they need some management out there, maybe I can send um my resume. BTW, I have called....A LOT!

I've been waiting on a shift knob from UUC since early September!!!! It's driving me crazy.
