Angel Eyes Opinons
There are so many angel eye threads that I couldn't read through them all so forgive me if this is a repost.
I LOVE the look of the white and blue angel eye mods when they are on by themselves. The only issue I see is that when the HID headlights are on, the angels eyes become totally lost as they blur into the light coming from the HID lights. With the factory yellow-ish angel eyes, there seems to be better color contrast so you can still see the angel eyes even with the HID lights on. Any thoughts on this? P.S. Has anyone tried red? That would probably look pretty sick but I'm sure that wouldn't be legal! |

I actually noticed that as well. I guess there was a plausible reason why BMW intended for these to be slightly yellow. I've gone from stock to PMB to Lux and back to stock and I like the stock contrast best. The rings are more defined when the main lights are on.

Thanks for the thread summary Chesmu!
The problem with this debate is that pictures don't help much because the exposure from camera to camera can make the blurring seem worse and the rings less noticeable. The rings definitely make a BMW stand out in your rear view mirror at night. If the white rings blur them together, then it would be hard to distinguish from a Civic with HID mods. Anyone have a good shot at distance with white rings where the outside rings are still visible with the HIDs on? |

I personally feel that the camera can't capture the angel eyes while on the road conditions. People position and angle shots to get the most light as possible. When i saw the LUX 2.0 and PIAA, i thought wow LUX 2.0 is really bright, but that was because I was standing over the housing, i also moved to the front of the car to look at it dead on. When I Natureboy and I drove down to the last meet we had, I saw the angel eyes, and I wasn't too impressed. I have also driven in front of KSfrogman who has the PIAA setup and I felt those two were very comparable. It is still light that lluminates the Angel Eyes. The Angel Eyes themselves do not contain light. I feel LUX 2.0 and PIAA do a good job of sending light thru the rings, or even as much as it could. Truly, IMO, the best way is to see them for yourself. Find people in your region who has the setup and compare and decide which is best for you. Its a great excuse to get together with fellow E90 people in the area. |

You're right, 3 cameras will yield 3 different results. Best way seems to be in person with your own eyes. It's kinda the same with the Sparkling Graphite/Purple thread that's raging in the other forum!

It's so true! You should try and make it out to one of the LA area meets. We have LUX PIAA, PMBs, stock, maybe even Brex. The California meet is gonna be huge, so there will be quite a few for you to look at.

i may be making a set of lux rings in red, or amber, or red-orange. I'm not saying its going to be legal though.
LUX 2 will be for sale again in the future, but not yet |

I can't imaging that anything other than white or yellow or very light blue would be legal.
I'd LOVE to see a picture of the rings done up in Demon Red though! |
