Can i power a JL w7 10" w/ Zapco 500w Reference Amp?
As the title states. I just got rid of my lemon 335i and im looking to plan my next sound system while i try to figure out what car i want to buy. I had a custom box fiberglassed into the side cubby area on the left side of the trunk with a 12" Image Dynamics sub and the Zapco Reference 500wRMS amp. It sounded really good but wasnt as loud as i would have liked and the sub definitely couldnt take all of the amps power so i had the amp backed off alot power wise
So i guess my main question is if a quality 500watt RMS amplifier could effectively power a jl w7 10" i guess i could even go with an 8" if i have to. |

Yes if the box is ported and no if it is sealed. Speaking from personal experience with a 10w7 in a sealed box. It needed 1000w to reach its full potential.
