Anyone know where I can get a real sparetire compartment?
I recalled that not all Euro E90s get runflats tire and have an actual spare tire compartment. However, I may be wrong. I was wondering if any one knows the part number for the compartment or if there is any aftermarket replacement item for it. I am running non-runflats now and carrying one of my OEM 16" tires with a floor jack in the main trunk compartment. Thanks in advance.
BTW, will Roadsisde assistance tow your E90 back to a tire repair garage or your home if you do not have runflats on your car. What do most of you do who do not have runflats and a spare tire? |

From what I seen under the carpeted lid, there are bolts that come through the sheetmetal from the bottom of the undercarriage that holds down the plastic storage compartment. Again, this is from my perspective of a U.S. spec'd E90 and I may be wrong. I was wondering in a few more years, will BMW change its design of this storage compartment for the US E90s because I suspect eventually more of the market will rather have non-runflats tires and an actual spare tire.
![]() ![]() What happens if the side wall of a RFL tire is punctured or the bead came off, will the tire still be drivable? Is this a poor marketing decision? Do RFL tire manufacturers have a profit scheme with the car manufacturers? |

I'm pretty sure that every E90 comes with the RFT's from the factory. I think that the trunk design is the same everywhere.
Roadside assist works normally with the non-RFT's also. Neither the owners manual or BMW AG doesn't require you to use RFT's if you don't want to. We're getting non-RFT's for the winter and so the dealer will give us the M-Mobility System also. |
