bmw says i have a serial connection on my 07 335 is this possible?

I brought my car in for service the other day and when i left i asked my SA if my car had a serial port to the ecu or not... he asked around and looked into it and he said my car did..

my car has a july of 07 build date...

1. isn't this what you need for a cobb tune
2. is this possible for my car to have the port that the cobb tune needs
3. can i install the cobb tune or what should i ask my SA?

thanks for the help

Every car past 1996 has the OBDII port within 2 feet of the steering wheel (usually down by your left foot)

This was universal-ized for emissions related diagnostics, and half of the pins need to be identical between manufacturers, but a few of the pins are able to be used how the manufacturer wishes.

BMW changed some pins between 07 and 08....so it'll be a little while before 07 support is out...
