What's good tom....do you have sport seats?

There's a service bulletin out for 06 models with sport seats. I don't have sport seats but my mat cracked and was throwing the airbag light.

Covered under cpo but if you have sport seats it should be free because it was a recall I think.

Did a bunch of research on this pretty recently. The seats are covered regardless, just call up your dealer and give them your VIN. Absolute worst case, they'll charge you an hour of diag, then when they determine it's the seat mat issue, they should refund it with no total cost to you.

The seat mat which senses occupancy develops cracks and starts to malfunction, causing it to sense a different distribution of weight than is actually there, causing the car to think that there's a child there, causing the airbag to be disabled.

Good luck.

That recall only affects 200,000 vehicles with sport seats in 3, 5, and x5 models I believe.

Since the recall began in early 06, it mainly affected 5 series, since the e9x chassis was introduced in late 05.

Tom I may still have my service receipt so maybe I can help you replace it.

I had to pay the $50 deductible but I'm not sure if thats because I had my engine head replaced at the same time.

Also cpo goes till 100k k thought? Why does your end at 80?
