paddle shifters
Hi everyone i got my bmw without paddle shifters. now i am regretting this. I really want them. How much would it cost to get them in my car? is it even possible? plz tell me the cheapest ways to do this and price. thank you.

Save your $. I have them on my '07. They are only a cute gimmick b/c they are kind of crippled in that both sides serve exactly the same function. That makes them a little awkward to use vs. the "traditional" ones where one side upshifts and the other downshifts. I hardly ever use them and prefer to use the shifter instead. The ones on the '11 are nice b/c each side does have a singular task.

Hey dude I have all the parts that you need steering wheel, paddle shifters, sport airbag and the harness to conect and make it work for your car, I'm just waiting to finish with the group buy for the 6 series combertion shifter. Buy a steering wheel with paddles cutouts from the FS section. I recommend the nice perforated one.
And then wait for tischer to start selling the LCI paddle shifters. They are wired the right way (upshift on the right, downshift on the left) |

This is incorrect. They come installed from the factory that way, but when retrofitting, as in the case of OP, there is absolutely no difference. LCI paddles will actually sacrifice the push function which pre-LCI paddles have if I'm not mistaken.

Save the money I have had 2 bimmers with them and trust me it's no big thing just slam the shifter to the left and it works like a stick so drop a couple gears and let it fly

I have them and wouldn't be able to stand auto without..... If you wanting to go from 5th to 3rd ... To have to knock the selector over into MS and then up twice to downshift versus two quick taps on the paddle that almost instantly downshift to the right gear? No contest...the paddles are much nimbler and less cumbersome.
Of course nothing compares to a 6MT where you can select that precise gear you want, but the paddles make the absence tolerable. I use them to downshift when braking often and approaching a situation where I know the exact gear I want (like an entrance ramp). Plus, using the paddles isn't as conspicuous as the selector and you wont appear to be showing off as much to any passengers in your car. But if you like showing-off.........

All of the steptronic paddle shifters are push/pull and operate the same ... the DCT tranny cars come with the normal pull style paddle shifters
