want to take my new 335is to get tuned. Does anyone know a good shop in Miami?
I recently got a 2011 335is with 7 spd double clutch tranny, active steering, and i put in a BMS intake. I want to get it tuned to improve performance. I dont know much about bmw performance since I am new to bmw, so
1. What would "tuning the car" consist of? 2. What are the benefits? 2. Would it void the warranty? (car is a lease) 3. And does anyone know a good shop I can take it to? Thank you

Overpriced, doesnt make much power, and there is not much information on them. There are cheaper tunes that you can buy that make more power. It also helps to have a tune that many others are using, it makes it easier to find information. Also, there is speculation that its just a re branded JB3. Why would you buy something that doesn't have as many features as a few other tunes that cost less?

No complaints here, and the tune did exactly what I was looking for. Several posts and reviews on this forum support it. No trying to debate here... just wanted to add my perspective. Also, I got it for the Holiday price special, which was 30% off. |

Be VERY careful of AWD Motorsports. I would hit up Shiv as a tune for your car is just plug and play and his is probably the best available at the moment for your car. AWD acts all classy but the list of complaints against them and the shady shit they've done is incredibly long.

I know that GIAC has tuned a couple 335is models.

1. What would "tuning the car" consist of?................(Well theres a lot to it, but basicaly, the way they make power is by turning up the turbo boost which would allow them to burn more fuel which results in more power. But theres a lot more to it than that, thats just the basic part)
2. What are the benefits?.....Well its simple no? MORE POWER. 2. Would it void the warranty? (car is a lease)....You see this is where it comes down to you, you need to make the decision if its worth risking your warranty or not. And I can assure you have LESS chances of getting a denied warranty if you use a piggyback! I recommend you look into a piggyback, since the ecu never sees true boost value and wont throw off an overboost code which is permantly recorded in the car no matter what. 3. And does anyone know a good shop I can take it to?.... Like I said screw the shop, if you decide that you want to take the risk, then just get a piggyback(I recommend a procede v5 which has a fuction to preserve the clutch life on the 335is dct(not sure if you have dct I just throwing it out there)) PS: take off the dci, unless if you have it for sound, it hurts performance(if you run less than 15-16psi) and raises temperatures. |

Ya - I have a friend who was ripped for a few grand by them and they admitted they didn't do something that he paid for and just told him to eff off and take them to court if he wanted but that was the only way he'd get anything from them...and then we found a rather large group of individuals who felt the same way.
I didn't know so many companies had 335is support - nice. |
