Torco octane boosting additive, any experience?

I saw this on a Vette forum, is it hogwash, and does it seem worth the dough if their claims are valid? I really want the >91 octane gain, at least for a while, on my new Procede. Sounds like a crack habit if it works, but more likely mildly potent snake oil. Is therea race-gas pump in PDX? My googles turned up nothing.

It sounds good, but in a post awhile back, Shiv mentioned something about octane boosters not being good (or maybe just not as good in relations to true 100 octane gas).

I'd be curious too if this this product is worthwhile. Would be good alternative for those without access to 100 octane pump gas.

Well I went to Torco's webpage and read a little bit on the product. It is more of a concentrated race fuel vs an additive.

"MACH SERIES UNLEADED ACCELERATOR, RACE FUEL CONCENTRATE - Torco Racing Fuels is the first and only race fuel manufacturer to produce a real race fuel concentrate that performs like a race fuel. This product is not an octane boost; it is a race fuel concentrate that transforms to produce higher octane fuels when proper mixing instructions are followed. Torco Race Fuel Accelerator is available in both leaded and unleaded. Both leaded and leaded accelerator is available to order individually by the 32oz bottle, by the case, or 5 gallon pails."

That's what I gleaned too. Paying for shipping on dilute liquid crack sounds like a party for the first tank, but not a viable solution to 93 octane at the pump for those of us in low octane states. And the 5 galon pails are nearly $200 on group buys. I think I'll drop my car an inch and just feel like I'm going faster at that rate.

It might be a good solution for track days + PROcede with 100 octane map. Other times just run 93 octane with appropriate map.

Don't know about their additive but the race fuel is top notch. With the exception of maybe vp import I would consider it the best.
