335I Engine Heat F degree

Hi - I have a question.. My 335 when driving normal in the city for 30-45 mins, the F go around 220-225 is that normal??

In the city mine rides at 240 - easy sometimes a bit hotter, perhaps 250. On the track - these engines hit 300 easy. 2 turbos - heat comes with the territory. Its normal however I doubt the longevity of these engines compared to BMW's non turbo model. I guess 200k max (IMHO)

I suggest more frequent oil changes since heat kills oil. I change mine between 5-7.5k.

You are actually at the very cool end of the spectrum.

I bet if you started to push it above 4.5k rpm for a while it would hit 250-260.

Mine hit 255 after an hour of driving in DS mode on and off with pretty spirited accelerations.

I don't doubt it if I consistently redlined it in 90 degree temps it would hit 280-290. Definetly something to keep an eye on with these engines.
