How many with 50k miles and a tune/ power mods?

My cars just passed the 50k mark although i have bmw extended warranty just like to hear some input from those with over 50k on theirs before i get tuned.

Especially from those who say remained stock for around 50k then tuned etc..

I have about 47k and have been tuned since 42k. Got new turbos, HPFP, Injectors, and spark plugs under warranty in that same timeframe. Had some issues with misfires when I first installed the tune, but new plugs and injectors fixed that and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

After my next service the Procede is going back in, as well as a new FMIC, DPs, and intake. My advice is to get a Procede and see what you've been missing!

Wow so you had to replaced the turbos, injectors, spark plugs and HPFP in the 5k miles you have been running a tune?

That doesnt seem very encouraging, considering im in a similar boat. (56k miles, never tuned, looking at a JB4)

hmm any more info on this from other memebers would be great!

Thanks, Travis

48K miles, tuned since 30k miles, no issues at all. Had my hpfp replaced at 24k miles when I wasn't tuned. I don't think your going to hear people say they blew turbos, injectors, etc due to the tune. Its more likely bc the wastegates rattle and the injectors go bad regardless.

54k miles, tuned since 10k miles. Nothing out of the ordinary.

HPFP(recall)
Turbos (wastegate rattle)
Injectors (recall)
Camshaft (known issue in older builds)
Vanos

All the above done under warranty

i'm tuned since 800km's on the car. Nothing tuned related that failed. Had engine block replaced because of subframe recall, hpfp and injectors due to recall, and just normal maintenance. (spark plugs and oil changes.) I change my oil every 5000km's. I'm at 81000km's right now and running strong. I'm full stage 3 as well. FMIC, DP's, Forge DV, OCC, Exhaust, Meth bla bla bla..

I'm tuned now for 120000 km....

No major drama's. Having some small thing with the gearbox, but seems to be a typical BMW issue as stated by my BMW engineer. looking into it....

HPFP, coils, plugs and injector replacements.....

Oil swap every 10k KM and never above 2,5k rpm before hitting 160-180F....

Great car! Love my Procede

I was stock till around 35, then had a jb3 for 5-10k and now at 52.5k with a procede for the last ~2k. Car seems to be running the same as when I picked it up CPO'd at ~35k.

56k on it currently. Purchased as CPO at 39k. HPFP was already replaced by the time I purchased car. The, it got replaced again (warranty). Had a JB+ (on and off... only installed 30% of drive time) at first. Coils, plugs and injector replaced.... but thats all normal stuff. Then I just installed JB4 tune a couple weeks ago.

No issues I've heard of due to tune. This entire thread lists all the usual crap-- and its regardless of a tune. These cars are strong.

Bought the car with 39,000 back in September. Installed the procede and dci the next day. I'm now at 49,000 and I haven't had a single problem. Looking at the service records from when I bought it, the car still has the original HPFP and all the original injectors. I'm one of the lucky few. I do need sparkplugs though. My wastegates rattle like hell but whatever you can stop the rattle by adjusting the wastegates with the procede but I'm to lazy haha

I have also had my turbos and hpfp replaced on my car before 45,000 miles. This was all before I had my car tuned.
The 335 definitely has it's reliability issues, as we all know. There is definitely a price to pay for enjoying one of bmw's few and infrequent ventures into turbo gasoline engines. It does seem that they are fixing these problems with the reengineered replacement parts through the recalls and warranty work.

Moral of the story is the tunes aren't the cause of all these failures. Sure they may not being doing the car any favors but at most it is showing us the defective BMW parts a little sooner than you would normally realize them.

I'm at about 57k miles (i've had the car since 0 miles were on the dash). It's been modded for most of those miles. The only problem I had was 1 failing injector (ended up replacing all 3 in that bank to be safe). I'm still on the stock fuel pump... no other issues!

91K miles....original clutch, turbo's, wastegates....etc....tuned and running strong. The HPFP was replaced at around 50K along with a intake cleaning....plugs/injectors/etc.....these cars are reliable as all BMW's are!
