not a big fan of the evo, but it's a very quick car i admit...

Judging by the contours undrneath the "camo" it looks as if Mitsu followed the design cues from the concept EVO X.

![]() I was going to buy one of these before deciding to buy the BMW. I still want one. The wife wants a BMW, so we're "compromising". I'll probably get an Evo X in the future though. I LOVE the new styling. When it comes to bang for the buck you can NOT beat an EVO or an STi. - LC

04-05 for the win indeed, though the 06-07 is growing on me.
The 08 is going to look like a Mazda, mark my words. EVO wins the next generation styling department in my book. - LC

Overall, it would be way down on my list, below Camry and Accord for example. As I said, if the look is correct on the pictures, then it ONLY has two thngs positive -- speed and looks. Looks are subjective, though. The rest is just the toy-like feeling in it.. Just like, for example 350z. |

The evo was a BLAST to drive it handled very well and was extremely resposnive! It handle like a "shifter kart" lightning quick steering with very little body roll. It's only draw back to me was it wasn't very practical for my lifestyle. As intended everything was geared toward performance and no luxury at all. As a family guy, the EVO felt a bit small. IMHO the evo and sti are the best bang for the buck sub 35k for a track ready car. ![]()

350Z doesn't have a whole lot of power, and it's a little heavy, but it handles like it's on rails. Evo & STi have a very good power-to-weight ratio and excellent handling. To make a good track car out of one all you'd really have to do is strip the interior and add some stiffening where necessary. With a slight upgrade in power (all you need is a turbo-back exhaust and a ECU piggyback to make 300whp on the STi), you can eat Porsche's, Ferraris, etc. on the track every day. And still put down a high 12-low 13 on the quarter mile if you wish. - LC

My best buddy has it so I did spend some time in it -- handles well (but not as well as e90), sound is great, 6MT is better than the Bimmer. However, the feel and the sound of the frame is ![]() SO, again -- OVERALL, I still do not consider it a "bang for a buck" As for EVO -- similar thing --track ready, blah, blah...ah wait, it is a regular HWY from my home to work, not a track stuff... So, unless you live and work on the track, I don't see it really as the best bung for a buck... I'd rather think that G3x is the best bang for a buck...just IMO. |
