Try out some Meguiars Ultimate Wax and see what you think. UW on my jb looks great. I have two jb 3's and have compared the new UW side by side to Tech wax 2.0 and the UW looks deeper and darker than the Tech wax.

i believe the meguires tech and ultimate waxes are actually sealers since they are synthetic. You should apply that first and then finish with a quality wax. I recently tried out dodo supernatural. Expensive no doubt but i'm impressed with it so far.

+1 for Dodo Juice Supernatural. The first Dodo wax I used was Purple Haze and it too looked great, but Supernatural seemed to deliver better all around gloss, depth of color, and appearance. If using Supernatural, just be sure to apply in thin layers; I learned the hard way not to apply too much as the wax will 'sweat' leaving a hazy appearance days after the application.

Yes the Ultimate wax is a seleant. Put it down first and then top it with Gold Class Carnaubu Plus and see what you think. This is a really great combination and I love it.

Try ordering the sample size so you can try it before shelling out that kind of cash. I did that with the Blue Velvet and I'm sold...I will probably buy the larger Blue Velvet Pro or the Supernatural. The stuff is really good. |

Both Megs UW and Next Tech are synthetics so techincally a sealant not wax.
What is the price point you want to spend, do you prefer gloss over wetness in looks? Hand applied or machine applied preference? Protection or appearance most important? There are a ton of waxes in the $20 to $50 range that look very similar given your paint surface is properly prepped. Properly polished and prepared surfaces will make more impact on the looks than any wax will. Also almost all Carnubas will last 6 to 8 weeks tops before they are not effective in protecting your paint surface. I'm guessing you answer the above questions and folks can narrow down your choices for you but really wax is pretty subjective choice. I use a cheaper wax and put it next to some boutique waxed cars and there is no physical difference but my paint is prepped yearly by a pro and I maintain that finish to 90% weekly. |

Definitely agree....
I used it on my Vermillion Red E92 and it made the color look much deeper. Used it last week on a friends E46 M3 in Carbon Black and it really brough out the color. I know it is pricey, but it is amazing how little you actually need when applying with the PC 7424 buffer on a blue pad.

I am a big proponent of paint prep over depending on the "Look" of a wax and really push this with our customers.
99.5 percent(probably 100%) of the look your paint will have comes from the preparation before sealing it or waxing. I would think most if not all professionals would agree as well. I would really focus on(depending on what it needs) a good wash and decon session, maybe followed by a paint cleaner if it needs no corrective work but then focus on something that is touted to give protection and durability over a look. I am firm believer in when someone spends A LOT of money on a wax that it will give the best look they have ever seen even if others can't agree or justify the price on the tub. Mike |

Right on Mike. While I wouldn't say the prep is 100% of the look, I'd definitely say it's at least 98%. Perfect paint will allow anything to look good. Asking what protective product will look best is much like asking "What make-up product looks best on Halle Berry?" - it basically won't matter as ANYTHING will look good on a perfect canvas. Worry about different waxes AFTER you have your paint condition improved. Until then, it is most important to just keep some type of protection on the vehicle to provide a slicker surface for washing (decrease in swirls) and protection from etching damage. |

^ I agree whole heartedly with this. Prep and polish way more important. If the OP shuddered at the price of Supernatural then SwissVax is the same for him.
Again maybe if OP answered what was most important to him looks vs protection and wet vs glossy and price point someone could give him a definitive answer. I have Eric from Envious correct my car once a year, to the point above again. A neighbor has a 997 TT, he uses the local mobile wash guy, same rags all cars etc etc. Anyhow he got a tub of Fuzion someone told him it was the best wax ever at 150 a tub, he had the guy put two coats on. The weekend after Eric corrected and polished my car I'm outside and had just pulled the car out of the garage after putting a coat of PB Natty over the BFWD I seal with. He pulls up and says I see you took my advice and got the Fuzion. I say nope it's my $20 wax over a $30 sealant, he looked like he was going to cry. Wax preferences are very subjective but the prep and polish is not. Not saying the boutique waxes are crummy but the work behind the job is what does 90% - 95% of the looks. |

He pretty much just drives right buy every Saturday morning when I'm out washing my car. Mine looks better but his drives way better. I cringe every time I see the mobile wash guy pull up and wash all 3 of his cars broad daylight, same bucket same soap same media and wipe them down with what looks like dish towels.
