New Rims Scratched out the box!

Hey guys I am kind of bummed. Opened my new set of rims last nite, and all four of them had scratch marks in the black paint. The scratches are similar on each wheel - near the center caps two bolt holes look like they've been "swirled" by some sort of tool.

Kinda of hard to get good pics of the scratches. The attached pics below are of one wheel - but they all have similar markings. Any idea how this happened? how it can be fixed?

Send them back to whoever you bought them from, if they were selling as new that is completly unacceptable. Looks like they might have been placed face down on a floor.

i am waiting to hear back from the seller. I'm hoping they can just be buffed out or something at the sellers expense.

looks like they are used wheels. must be careless when remoivng the bolts with and air gun and the socket bouce all over. theres no way setting the rim on the face will cause it since you have a lip. send them back no buffing will remove it. it digged into the paint.

Oh man, that sucks. I would definitely send them back. I just got my F1 GS-D3s mounted on my 162s this past weekend and they dinged the hell out of one of the rims. They're repairing it but it still ticks me off. I told them if the repair doesn't come out perfect they're buying me a new rim.

yep its true...i always take care when removing my rims to tape up the socket wrench to minimize the chances of this occuring..they've definately been mounted. send them back and ask for your $$ back

well I am not sure what to do. I did get a really good deal on them. $2500 for 20" equips. Seller has offered full refund and paid postage back.

Not sure what to do.

Whats really odd is that its like that on 2 bolt holes for each wheel. Only 2.

its really up to you...maybe the seller is like me and has 2 wheel locks on each wheel...hey, cant be too safe if each wheel costs over $1k right? them locks can be a pain to get off sometimes with a torque wrench.. its really up to you. if its a blemish and you can live with it, then keep em. you can always get them powder-coated further down the road. you're bound to get dings and rock chips after driving them...$2500 is def. cheap suits for them wheels

How much does it cost to powder coat the wheels again you think?
