Alignment Help Needed
ok so i put new wheels on and it started to rub. so i got my fenders rolled and it solved about 70% of the rubbing issue. at this moment i am thinking about shaving and cutting the bumper and rear pannel, but i figured it may just be an alignment issue as to why im rubbing.
so i called the dealer and asked for an alignment and they are full up to next two weeks! and plus they probably will throw a fit about my wheels. so does anyone know a good place to get the alignment done? i always just preferred dealers but at this point 3rd parties will have to do.

just made an appointment with Pro Tuning Performance for tomorrow at noon... these guys tried to over price me with the fender roll... but 139 for 1 yr alignment wasnt bad since no FIRESTONE around my area does BMW.
hopefully ill get good results with the rubbing issue tomorrow after aligning the wheels.

wow so could of used this...
here is why... PTP - had an oppointment at noon... but decided that they didnt want to mess with it and offered fender roll instead... and i said already done the roll. NTB - offered me 150 for 3 yr alignment over the phone and decides to charge me 250 at the location... then had this bs talk about BMW needs camber adjustments which is why its costs more. and will charge extra 100 bucks for the specs i requested even if its in the OEM specs range. hassled and argued and gave me the quoted price at the end but didnt get the alignment i wanted (within the OEM specs). so now... my alignment is done... but nothing to solve the issue i wanted to solve... and my left rear wheels just ripped the bumper clip(s) off... when are you available at classic nemesis ???

^ just a simple 1 degree camber from -1.1 to -1.9 and toe out from 0.05 to 0.26 degrees ... i just need few cm to clear the fold that holds the bumper to rear pannel inside your wheel well.
which is all within the factory specs.

I wouldn't ever let anyone other than PTP touch my car for suspension. When you see the attention to detail they put into their work you will understand why. When I took my Evo to them they put painters tape on all the bolts before they touched them, used gloves anytime they got near my car, cleaned the lugs before re-installing the wheels, put anti-seize on any exposed thread, and allowed me to sit in it during the alignment so the alignment accounted for my weight.
I left with a set of Nitto NT05's, no touch mounting, dynamic road force balancing, alignment to my spec (with me in the car) all for $800 (after my NTEC discount). And they were a joy to shoot the breeze with the entire time I was there. |

I got Firestone life time alignment, but they was never able to cure my alignment problem. My car always pulls to the right after i swa the RFT for General UHP.
I also bought my new rims to Firestone today, asking them to dismount the old tire and mount onto the new rims. Keep i minds my rear tire is still brand new, since i just have it mounted like 3 months ago. They said can't do it due to liabilities issue. So i'm looking for a place to dismount and mount the tire onto the new rims now. |
