Sirius Stuck on Updating Screen
Not sure how long the channel update is supposed to take but I gave it 30 minutes this morning on the drive to work and its still stuck on Updating. Anyone else notice the same?
I tried calling Sirius but they don't open until 8:00 am, which is another issue. With an update like this they probably should extend their customer service hours.

Mine updated this morning, only took about 30 seconds for me and all was well. Only problem I had was figuring out where some of the stations moved to.

it's because some of the channels have changed. Manually move it to another station. For instance hists 1 was on my channel 1 this morning. It came up as "call sirius for service" Hit the back arrow and choose a different station manually. Like channel 2 (hits1)

Manually moving it to another station is not possible.

My update took about 30 or 45 secs so if you're going on 30 minutes, you'll probably need to call sirius and have them resend a signal to you. I think before you call them, you'll need to have the ESN number to your radio or whatever that number is called and have your car parked outside where it'll be able to get a signal from the satellite. GL.

It was straightened out. I went out to the car and turned it on and restarted the update. I think putting my top down this AM interrupted the update.

Mine won't update it at all... when i go to view "all channels" it still displays the old lineup, but when i click the channels it plays the new ones.... any ideas?
edit: do i need to call sirius to have them send an update? |

It can't hurt. Their number and your ESN should be displayed if you go to manage subscriptions. Note: You'll need to be in your car when you call them.

I got an email about this.
It says you may need to reset your presets. I can forward the email to you if you'd like. Do you have the older iDrive, Pre-HD based? If so, do a soft reset by holding both eject and volume buttons in until the iDrive re-boots....about 30 seconds. |

I'll have to try the soft reboot. I lost my presets, which is no big deal. But now it won't let me store any new presets. When I go to store them, the station is listed with a check mark on the left. When I press idrive to enter, the station disappears. Push the controller again, and I get a message with my ESN and the number to call Sirius.

Soft reboot didn't fix it. Do you have a long drive to work? I only drove about 15 minutes today. Maybe not enough time to complete the update?

I drove for a little over 4 hours straight and my preset screen is still blank like you described. Walked into BMW and they said they have never heard of anything like that.

Update should only take a couple minutes. Make sure you guys have a clear view of the sky when you are updating.....can't be under bridges, garages, etc.

Drove for ~4 hours today, basically no bridges. All the stations had the correct numbers in about 45 seconds, just my preset screen is blank, no stations can be added in, and if I click in the iDrive controller as if I was selecting a station, it will give me my ESN and the number to call Sirius. Tried the reboot a few times when I reached my destination and still nothing in the preset screen.

I'm getting the same problem. i got the new stations, but can't store the presets. Only the check mark. Tried soft reboot....nothing. Called BMW customer service and they referred me to Sirius. Of course, Sirius tech line is totally useless.
