List your tuner type and power results!
I'm doing some research on a tuner for the 335i. I have looked and looked I'm trying not to but there is just so much information.
I'll be thinking I want this tuner then look up another and decide I want that. I was first thinking JB4 because its cheep and good results. Then I got hooked on Procede V5 but as usual I started to find cons and it costing more. I don't know which is best so I figured I'll just ask what people are running. What kind of tuner and type? What hp gains did you get from it? Pro and Cons to your tuner? And how much did it cost? P.S. Also if the money wasn't an option which do you think is the best for results and integrity? |

I have looked at that but I was just trying to focus just on the tuner itself. I'm trying to get away from all the variables of different exhaust, downpipes, DCI, Intercooler...ect.
I just want to know peoples personal experience with there tuners. What they would change if they could or why they like that one so much? Why did they get that one over others or did they wish they would of got a different one? |

for a rear wheel drive 335i, you can assume about 12% drive train loss (max). The math to convert from RWHP to Crank HP is...
CrankHP = RWHP/(1-DriveTrainLoss) example 1 330/(1-12%) = 375HP example 2 (with Vishnu's PWM Meth kit) Stock Map, with DCI 284/(1-12%) = 322 CrankHP Vishnu PWM Meth Kit and DCI = 406/(1-12%) = 461 CrankHP so Shiv's advertised 122HP gain is actually 139 at the crank

Also only 12% loss that seems kinda low? |

Let me know if you need any help. It can be very tough getting straight answers these days as this topic has been beaten to death for about 4 years now LOL

I kinda put it up to soon but I was very eager to find information...I have been knee deep in this forum and others trying to figure out which way I want to start out. So may options....like turbo upgrade, meth, tune, FMIC, DCT, Nitrous, downpipes,...excreta..plus the different setups within all those. But thanks for the help I'm sure I will have plenty of questions in the future when I start to actually put it all together. |

Think I have decided to go with the JB4 tune though.
It seems to put out great power and the cheapest tune with all the bells and whistles. |
