Less than a week old and bird poop etched

My car is less than a week old and got bird poop on it. (Le Mans Blue)

Took it off as soon as I could with water and a MF towel.

No scratches, but I see the poop etching....faint, but I can see it.

I have not waxed or sealed the car yet.

I am going to go wash the whole car and then go pick up a wax or sealer and do it now.

I am going to Autozone, not sure what they have for wax or sealers. I think they have Mothers and Meguiar's. Are those good as temp protection till I can order something better?

What should I do about the 2 spots already there?

get some scratchX or a mild polish before you seal it. Otherwise, you are going to wax over the defect instead of remove it.

something that you can do if you want to get creative:
get the 3m headlight lense kit and some scratchX
use the orange pad and the scratchX on the bird bomb etching (should knock it out)
and then you will have the 3m kit for headlight fixes whenever you feel it necessary to clean up the lenses on your car or other cars for people in your family or friends...

just something to think about and kill two birds with one stone...should run about 25-30 bucks I think.

I stopped at my local BMW pro place and they recommended a local guy in Winchester, MA (AutoSalon).

He looked at my car and said that the dealership did not prep the car. They left the crap on from the white plastic....and no wax.

He said he could wash, clay and Zaino it for $200 and he would address the two spots.

He then said that if I follow up washing with Zaino Z-8 I should be good.

Any thoughts on this approach?

Do it yourself

use compound to correct ie. try Menzerna SIP with Orange pad....it won't be perfect, but it'll decrease the look of it
