More 500rw dynos and fuel system testing!
BMS did a little dyno testing this morning with LM on his 2007 335i. He has RB turbos, full bolts ons, CM/BMS meth, and race gas. The main purpose of the testing was to determine if increasing the low fuel pressure would translate in to allowing more fuel to enter combustion. Unfortunately the results were a little inconclusive. At 16-17volts the low fuel pressure remained fairly stable oscillating about 68psi, instead of the steady decline seen at the factory 14volts, but overall fueling capacity was only marginally increased. Up next they will have to work on the low system regulation to see if the oscillation which is created when you run higher than stock high system pressure can be stopped. Ultimately they will raise the low system fuel pressure up from the factory setting of ~70psi to ~80psi to determine if the limitation is anywhere prior to the high pressure pump.
Still, good showing for the JB4 and RB turbos. 512whp, nice repeatable curve, great timing, etc. You can see where it's fuel limited before and after 5500rpm where high system pressure drops and AFR leans out. Mike |

Mike, are any of those at stock voltage or are you just summarizing that these didnt vary from the stock runs?
I know there was a lot of speculation on whether increasing the LPFP would even help much and am curious if you have confirmed that there might be only limited gains from this concept. |

He did indeed but he is also 6MT as opposed to LM's 6AT which means he has slightly less loss.

I thought you guys tested the lpfp up to 18V, so just curious why they didn't run it at the max.

Pretty damn impressive and thanks for working on a fueling solution and pushing the envelope.

Mike/Terry
I already told you this in one of those epic fuel pump threads. Its not that easy, but im glad you tried it yourself and posted true results. I called these boost a pump kit not doing much if anything. Based on my experience with DI, its the hpfp that is out of steam, but hell maybe you will proove that to be wrong. |

This is hardly pushing the envelope. I'm actually disappointed with the numbers considering others have put down nearly the same without the "fuel system" upgrade.
