Angel eye help

I wanted to see how difficult replacing the angel eye bulb would be before ordering new bulbs, so i decided to try removing the stock bulb and putting it right back. Well, now i cannot get the stupid thing locked back in the holder. I can get it lined up and set in, but then I can only turn it about a quarter of the way before it stops, and i can't keep turning it no matter how hard i try. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong? This is really getting frustrating now, so thanks for any help or advice.
