Vacuum line nipple broken (Help needed)
I was installing my AA Bov. Went through the steps till I had to take the vacuum line off. Pulled on it gently and the hose and the plastic (which the hose connected to) came off. The hose was the only one that's supposed to come off.
So, I'm stuck with a broken piece from my intake manifold and with my engine bay half-apart. Will I be able to drive my car to our shop without the vacuum line on? What're my options in repairing this? I was thinking that I should tow it to my shop and order a new intake manifold. |

removing the manifold and tapping it shouldn't be too extensive.. definitely cheaper than a new manifold.

I've read quite a few posts about people having problems like this. I should just let that thing on, got the other end of the t-bolt to the bov and clamp the other end off.
Any info on the specs of what fitting I should use? The vacuum hose should be 3mm, correct me if I'm wrong. |

Yes that would be the better route. Dunno why AA hasn't addressed that issue because it happened to me and at least a handful of people....
I JB welded the nipple back just to get the car running, and eventually got a new manifold. ~$900 or so for the part and labor at the dealership, in case you're wondering. Quote:

It'll run fine but your diverter valve won't actuate and you'll have some compressor surge in the turbos. You'll also have a boost leak and might get a 30ff code that'll put you in limp mode. Just drive like a granny and never get on it and get it fixed ASAP and you'll be fine.
