Which wheels will be easier to sell after 3 years useage?
My 335i coupe will be here in about 3 more weeks. I will be leasing. Expect to run the stock wheels and tires until Nov when I will take them off . I will save them to put back on the car at lease end. Now comes the problem. I want to get new wheels and tires .Ideally woud like to put all season tires on since they have better tire wear and better winter traction. ( I don't really need winter tires for my 1 mile commute since I also have a Mountaineer AWD). I have heard good things about the General UHP tires but don't think they would really be good in temps under 30 degrees. Not many allseasons in 19"
Here is the real question, Which wheels and sizes would be most easy to re-sell in 2 1/2 years at lease end? 1) CSL reps or M6 reps (CLS?) 2) 18" or 19" ( I figure 19") 3) staggered or non staggered (?) Since the prices of these wheels are only a couple hundred dollars apart, resale value is not that important. Not intersted in which wheels will sell for more money, just which wheels will have the most demand and would be easier to unload at a reasonable price. TIA |

Both wheels in 19" in staggered will be classic fit on the E90/91/92/93 for years to come. I think you shouldn't have a problem selling either...presuming your price is right.
Having said that...I would say CSL are more popular right now. But I'm not sure if that will in fact make it more harder to sell CSL later because over supply??? Anyway...I don't think it will be a huge problem with either. |

My real problem is that if I do get the 19" staggered, I don't believe that there are any allseason tires to fit that aplication. I do not want to run summer tires and am afraid that the General UHP are not really an allseason tire.

That's why you swap your OEM in the winter, and Aftermarkets in the summer. It's tough in the winter, but in the spring when you put the 19s on, it's like getting new rims every year

Problem is that i don't want 3 sets of tires and wheels and don't really need snows. I want the all seasons for the better treadwear and ride comfort. I don't want to wear out or use the crappy OEM runflats because I have to return the car with runflats at lease end. I don't want to do a summer/ winter set up. If the snow gets deep in my area my car stays in the garage.

Another alternative.....put the summer tires on the 19's and get winter tires for the stock 18's. Leave the RFT's in garbage bags with a lite spritz of tire shine. 3 years from now re-mount the RFTs on the stock wheel and return the car

1) csl reps. they have a classic bbs style design that always goes well with bmw's.
2) 19" 3) staggered
