The idea is to do a friendly cruise .. get our cars out of the city for a nice easy run, and it'll be cool to have a convoy of BMWs heading along the highway! Everybody welcome, so long as you drive any kind of BMW (or Mini!)

If you can't join the cruise, but would still like to meet everybody, feel free to head over to the meeting point!

Feel free to participate in the pot luck style lunch, or simply bring your own.

7) Cruise Banff Avenue

I am in. From what I have learned organizing the past meets in the last few years, just set up a date and time, and people will come. There will be a lot of those people that can't make it and have work and on and on, but then there will be those that show up. Also, don't pick a long weekend, and Sunday's I have found to be a good day for a meet. Once you figure out a day, I can help you with the rest.

edit: Also there are only a handful that like to go on a long cruise. Most just like short cruises or just to show up for a bit and leave. You can have both.

Sunday 26th of June is looking like a good date .. before the Stampede & Canada day. I will set up a 'event' thread soon once some more ideas have been posted here.

Maybe we could do a meet before hand, and then those who want to continue on the cruise can do so .. others can go home if they prefer.

Those who come, maybe we could do a pot-luck type thing for things to throw on the bbq for lunch, at our destination. I will scout out potential destination picnic sites with BMW-friendly parking, and fire pits .. and of course will bring a real grill too!

How far is too far? Banff is a nice distance .. not too long, but enough to drive our cars a bit (after all, that's why we bought them!) Then again, do we want to avoid park fees? Maybe Bragg Creek would be good .. but is very short distance. Kananaskis village area?

I think banff is a good plan.....it shouldn't be too difficult to find a place to BBQ if we want to and there will hopefully be some good places for photo opps!

Anyone interested in some 'driving' at the banff springs golf range? I'm sure if we phoned ahead it would be a beautiful location for us to get some rec in. I need to break-in my new set of pings. ;D

Highway 1A to Canmore then on to Banff sounds like fun. Count me in (08 E90 335i).

There is a big parking lot at the Crowfoot LRT that is virtually empty on weekends and right on 1A on the west side of town.
