325i conversion to 330i
I'm going to make my car as close to a 330i as possible. I'm going to install a stage 3 intake manifold and sofar these are the parts that I know I need:
11617559523 Intake Manifold 11617559530 Vent Hose 11617579114 Adjustor Unit 11617560538 Adjustor Unit 2 11617547242 Gasket set 11617535849 x5 Screw 50x20 11617535850 x2 Screw 50x35 11617535851 x1 Screw 50x66 Anything else that I need like a new air intake? And are there any websites that I can get these parts for less? So far it costs just under a grand. The software I'm going to get done in a shop that only works on bmw's.

There's a PCV line in the back if the valve cover the breakes easily. I forgot the part number exactly. It costs around $80, I think.

If you want to make your 325i similar to a 330i, you'll also have to get the 330i's exhaust as it's less restrictive and 330i's brakes as they are larger (rotors). Everything else is pretty much the same.

That would be true if he was trying to go from 325 to 335 but the conversion from a 325 to 330 is pretty cheap. All you really need is a better exhaust (like BMW perfromance), the intake mainfold, and the AA tune is highly suggested too. The 325, 328, and 330 all have the same exact engine, just a different tune and the 330 has a 3 stage intake manifold.

if that is the same list that is in the other thread, then yes, that is all you need, though you should be able to re-use your vent hose if you are carefull. There is a lot of info in the other 2 threads regarding this, so make sure you read them.

To be very honest with you, I really don't know. Having said that, I assume any aftermarket exhaust would be more free-flowing than a factory installed exhaust.
Keep us posted on this. Wil

Within 2 or 3 weeks I should have these parts..... Is it true that the 325i ecu adjusts by itself? I read some posts that after awhile it will adjust by itself and doesn't need a 330i reflash.

you will gain power with just the manifold, but there is a flat spot/dip in the midrange for about 500 rpms or so, and the power still falls off on the top end (you'll still pick up ~15hp and a bunch of torque though). The AA flash is needed to smooth out the powerband and give you an additional 10-15 hp over stock 325i computer.

Has anyone tried this with a '28 yet? I know the '25 works but it can be That much different from a '28.

It does not adjust. I don't think it's harmful but I do think it's slower than stock without the tune.

hi there... i have a e90 325xi (USA) model.... and i live in Faroe Islands (in the middle of the Atlantic ocean) i had the same dream as you. make my car faster, first i bought the AFE intake. i though DAMN. it sounded good but there was no more power, and after a while i though the car was even slower... but i never changed it back... the i decided to buy the 3 stage intake manifold. and then the car got even sower than before

However, the 328 should be able to make satisfactory gains by adding the "the variable resonance system, dual plenum intake runner system, and the variable back pressure muffler" found on the higher output versions. So we should find those part #'s & add them, then try flashing a stock 330 firmware file... right? |

![]() it looks as though the intake parts you listed take care of the "variable resonance" and "dual plenum manifold" portion. but on a 325 it won't be exact because the displacement is off. this *seems* obtainable on a 328 with the addition of these parts and a firmware change to 330. |

Then why do the short blocks have the same part number? Where'd you get your info?
