current finance rates in US?

what interest rate can i expect to be given financing through bmwna? i should have an excellent credit score so that's not a problem

my car arrived in the US today, so I'm going to talk to my CA tomorrow about finalizing everything. we settled on a price when i put the deposit down months ago, but not on a finance rate

just wondering what to expect from their end ?

if this can be found in another thread, sorry. please point me in that direction. i didn't find anything recent using the search...

Don't know about BMWNA FS rates but at my credit union they're offering 5.99% new auto loan for up to 60 months.

Capital One Auto Finance:

http://www.capitalone.com/autoloans/...1_C1_01_T_ALNU

currently has pretty good rates. There were over 1% less than the rates I got from BMW.

Best bet is to get a couple of rate quotes and take them in with you. Capital One sends you a blank check for up to the loan amount and you walk into the dealership with that. Tell the dealer that you would love to go with them if they'll better the rate you got from Capital One or whoever. No reason to let them off the hook easy.

They make a LOT more money on the financing than they do on the car. They'll want your business no matter what.

Remember that the a change to actual interest rate doesn't affect the monthly payment very much compared to decreasing the loan amount. The monthly payment difference between a 6.25% loan and a 7.50% loan is only a few dollars a month.

Some credit unions, like Associated, offer 4.90% for 60mo.

I just sent in an application to join that credit union. Let see if they can get me in a 4.9% because that is the best I have seen...

Best I've seen too. You don't need to fill out Associated app. first, to see if you qualify to secure a loan. Just call their loan office.
My 2nd choices would have been USAA Bank or Capital One. Capital One has financed my last 2 cars. However C.O. doesn't offer online payment, and it's like $9 to pay by phone, which sucks.

If dealer won't save you money, then no. Shop around.

BMWFS has horrible rates. I have a good score and they offered me 8.9% and didn't think anything of it... Currently they are working with Chase which has financed my last two cars to get me a respectable rate.

Avoid BMWFS like the plague.

I agree with getting a credit union quote--mine was 5.75, and so the dealer beat it by offering 5.5. Eventually it got assigned to BoA. The dealer can beat any rate you throw at them, like anything else, you have to have another offer in hand. I don't like the HSBC or CapOne because you have to allow them to deduct the pymt. from your acct. a la automatic withdrawal. You should get rewarded for that, by at least 1/4%, and if I'm not mistaken, they're at around 6.4 for 60 mos. A friend said the navy FCU was 5.0 for 72 mos., now that's not too shabby.

That's horrible, like my water bill. It's $30 mo. and if I want to pay by phone, something like $5. They're the only bill I cannot pay electronically and still have to pay by sending a check in the mail.

Capital One does have online payment. I went with Cap One for my 335i at 5.0% couple months ago. They automatically withdraw my payment from my bank account. One hassel was that my dealer did not accept their "draft" so I had to have Cap One send over a cashier's check for the amount that I wanted to finance.

Ok, but requesting, in writing, that they set up a recurring automatic withdrawal from your bank is just not the same as going to their website and doing your own tranfers (like you might do to pay a credit card statement).
