For those of you who want in on the joke, Jack Reacher is about 6' 5" and built like a brick outhouse. His size and strength are implicit in many of his fight scenes both when he was an MP (Army) and in later novels.

Tom Cruise isn't and never could be, Jack Reacher.

Maybe they're changing the name slightly, and he's now Jack Reacher-round?

How awful.

I've loved all the Reacher books until now, and Cruise is just soooo wrong. I could imagine Vin Diesel for example, but Cruise...honestly.

I love those books, but Cruise??

I could see someone like Gerard Butler working, or maybe Jeff Bridges, thinking of him in Lebrowski or True Grit, but Cruise??

It needs to be gritty like Bourne, not all Hollywood like Mission Impossible.

OMG that cant be right , Jack Reacher is a bruiser of a guy.

Cruise is going to ruin it, his got is MI franchise and should stick to it. heck Richard Armitage from spooks would do a better Reacher

oh well Hollywood trashes another great novel

quick google is already popping up with media screaming murder for cruise event being suggested for the role

Thats not gonna work great books, One Shot is my fav. Cruise is defo not who fans would want for Jack. My choice would be someone like Dominic Purcell (Prison Break), i always imagined him to be someone like Dulph Lundgren but he is a complete cheb end and awful actor so please wouldnt want him.

Whats other peeps view?

I thought Reacher was meant to be in his late forties in the early books, and now mid fifties??
