2008 E90 / E91 Towbar electrics wiring

Hi,

I have a 2008 E91. I need to fit a towbar and electrics for my bike rack.

I have purchased a used Witter towbar (removed from another E91) complete with the electrics and relay, but I just wondered where is the best place to splice into the loom for the feed to the relay ?

I understand that the lights pulse rather than stay on constantly, and subsequently the high level brake light is the best feed for the brakes..

Does anyone have any tips ??

Thanks.

Just started this on my E91. I fitted a 7 way relay I bought on eBay and found that the supply from the rear lights goes out when feeding the towbar electrics, so maybe using the high level brake light supply is a better idea. Upon checking the wiring the 12v feed to the top light is a black wire with a yellow stripe that runs down the passenger side of the tailgate into the boot. I've not connected this up yet as I need time to remove the trim but will let you know if it works.
